Pyramid’s new tune

Pyramid

Here’s a nice Sunday Electro jam from Pyramid.

Dropped in thanks for hitting 1500 ‘likes’ on Facebook, ‘On A Walk’ is an instrumental analog synth balled with a Sci-Fi feel. We’re still loving the way Pyramid combines Italo style basses with more raw, live sounding elements along with his beautiful melodies and atmospheres.

Annex 82

annex 82

Annex 82 is the brainchild of Michigan based Electro producer Rob Salazar.

He’s just released his new EP, titled ‘Skylights’, and it’s five tracks of pure synth heaven. Taking the current SynthWave sound and giving it a slightly more grungy, more analog, feel Annex 82 come across with both the Italo groove of Dreamwave crossover tracks and the rockiness of the ballsier end of SynthPop. This instrumental collection kicks off with ‘Laserbeam’, which is  is everything a synth-head could want from a track, taking cues from everything from ElectroPop to Disco via Italo it really sets a precedent for the rest of the EP. Annex 82’s tracks flow with an unexpected kind of machine funk, there is a groove hiding amongst the relentless rapid-fire robo synths, and an emotion to the melodies. ‘Roadgames’ and ‘astrid eVe’ both lay the ‘80’s vibe on thick, with the former even getting a little Daft Punk about it. This is a very impressive EP from an unknown that leaves us eager to hear more.

Chris Malinchak’s ‘No Secrets’ video

The video for Chris Malinchak’s ‘No Secrets’, featuring Damon C. Scott, from his ‘Vilette’ EP is finally here.

The video is smooth, with a night time sheen. Pretty much the visual version of the track then!

The ‘Vilette’ EP is out now on French Express.

Jules Schimmer’s ‘On The Train’ mix

Jules Schimmer – On The Train Mix =An awesome mix of ElectroPop and Nu-Disco from Mr. Schimmer that began life on a train journey home from London after a particularly heavy night out in Shoreditch and Dalston with some famous people, and me. L-Vis 1990’s new video

Deep electronic grooves now, both in music and images with L-Vis 1990’s new video, the Para One and Teki Latex featuring ‘Feel The Void’.

Like an ‘80’s Electro video, the clip perfectly matches the Cybotron-esque vibe of the tune.

‘Feel The Void’ is out 28th November.

Miracle’s new single

Miracle

The almighty Steve Moore is back, the hardest working man in retro synth music is gearing up for the first proper single release (after the severely limited ‘The Visitor’ 12” and the ‘Fluid Window’ mini-album) of his duo project with Daniel O’Sullivan, Miracle.

The single, ‘Good Love’, opens with typically Moore vintage synths and a slightly Italo feel before powering into a majestic, SynthPop anthem. The mixture of ‘80’s European dance music with Depeche Mode style grandiose lyrical religious imagery. Like and orchestra of Italo, Moore and O’Sullivan crate a rousing yet melancholy sound with enough understanding of the dancefloor to see them as big contenders for HURTS, or at least a HURTS for the SynthWave crowd.

‘Good Love’ is released 27th November on House Anxiety Records.

Graph Gonzales’ ‘Eyes In The Dark’

graph gonzales

Canadian Graph Gonzales has just released her new single ‘Eyes In The Dark’, with a reMix package to follow later in the month.

The track is a seriously impressive slice of retro ElectroPop. With a huge chorus that brings to mind power ballads of the ‘80’s coupled with pulsating analog synths, ‘Eyes In The Dark’ is the perfect meeting of ‘80’s songwriting and keys with modern dancefloor production, like putting some ‘80’s synth Soul through a sidechain. Graph herself really carries off the song well, especially in the big choruses where her voice is just the right type of powerful had has just the right tone for that ‘exciting-bit-of-a-movie’ feel. Recommended stuff!
