We Are Terrorists: Don’t Panic reMixed

WeAreTerrorists

Out this month, on Boxon Records, is We Are Terrorists’ ‘Don’t Panic reMixes’ EP.

The EP feature a whopping 12 reMixes of tracks from last year’s original ‘Dont’ Panic’ EP, 5 of which are available on the 12” (all 12 in digital format).

The ‘Don’t Panic’ EP was a raucous Electro affair full of soaring synths and angsty vocals. The reMix pack is looking like it will include some real club floor fillers.

Amongst the reMixers are Daroc, Digikid84 and DilemN, sample them here at 96kbps:

♫ We Are Terrorists – Burn Your Club (Digikid84 reMix) (zShare) (MediaFire)

thecocknbullkid: new single

thecocknbullkid

Today sees the release of Electro Soulstress thecocknbullkid’s second single ‘I’m Not Sorry’, the follow up to last year’s Metronomy produced ‘On My Own’, on limited edition 7” and download.

‘I’m Not Sorry’ is a slice of poppy brilliance. Cheekily harsh lyrics with a sickly sweet delivery, like a iron fist in a velvet glove, SynthPop style.

Hackney’s Anita Blay A.K.A. thecocknbullkid is going to be very big, very soon.

Have a taster by way of Stuart Ramsay’s pumping reMix.

Death To Sexy

DeathToSexy

Straight outta’ Canada come Death To Sexy describing themselves as ‘Punk-infused Electro’, I’m hearing a dash of early 80’s ‘dirty’ SynthPop, a sprinkling of old school EBM, a spoonful of ElectroClash and a healthy helping of modern Electro.

Dirty bass and dancefloor beats sit underneath vocalist Kelcy Clark’s brooding lyrics.

Check out the hypnotic bassline of their track ‘Operation Housewife’:

And ‘Pick Up Line’ from the band’s début album.

The ‘I Am A Whore EP’ is available on Beatport, whilst the album ‘Fall Of The Prom Queen’ can be purchased from CDBaby (or downloaded free on the bands MySpace page)

More Build reMixes

Build

A while back, here, we blogged about London Indie-Electro producer Build’s reMix of Cut Copy’s ‘Hearts On Fire’, which we really liked. Build has been busy, he also has two more reMixes to share with the world Both are of Indie-Electro modern classics. ‘Feeling Better’ by French Indie/SynthPop mob The Teenagers and Ladyhawke’s oft-reMixed ‘Back Of The Van’, of which Build’s reMix more than holds it’s own!

G.L.O.V.E.S. ‘Changes’ Van She

VanShe

Over on the ModBlog, those nice people at Modular Recordings have been in a generous mood and given away the reMix of ‘Changes’ by Aussie Indie-Electro stars Van She that they had G.L.O.V.E.S. (one half of Damn Arms) do.

♫ Van She – Changes (G.L.O.V.E.S. reMix) (zShare) (MediaFIre)

The reMix has been knocking around since late last year but it’s worth posting anyway, it’s a Disco funker with some great synth noodling, as is this old gem, one of my favourite Van She tracks mixed by one of my favourite reMixers, Lifelike:

♫ Van She – Kelly (Lifelike reMix) (zShare) (MediaFIre)

There’s four of them, they gotta’ eat, y’know! Buy stuff:

Sébastien Tellier reMixed by A-Track

SébastienTellier

A-Track has dropped this reMix of French chilled SynthPop guru Sébastien Tellier’s ‘Kilometer’ over on the Tumblr site for his forthcoming ‘Infinity+1’ album.

A-track has defiantly got his groove on with this bassline heavy Disco rework.

While we’re on the subject, here’s another couple of reMixes of ‘Kilometer’ by Ted And Francis and Moulinex for your listening pleasure.

Little Boots Vs. Phil Oakey clip!!!

littleboots5

Last week we reported that The Human League’s Phil Oakey would be lending his vocals to a track on Little Boots début album. Well, now you can have yourself a tiny teaser of what that will hold.

♫ Little Boots (Feat. Phil Oakey) – Symmetry (Edit) (Clip) (zShare) (MediaFire)

There’s not much to hear, it cuts off before the chorus, but it is just fantastic to hear Victoria and Phil in the same song. Exiting stuff indeed!

Over on Little Boots’ blog she has posted her thoughts regarding the track listing for the album, which currently stands at:

‘Stuck On Repeat’
‘Meddle’
‘Earthquake’
‘New In Town’
‘Click’
‘Tune Into My Heart’
‘Symetry’ (Feat. Philip Oakey)
‘Not Now’
‘Hearts Collide’

‘Love Kills’ is no great loss but I would like to see ‘Mathematics’ in there.

Daft Punk to score Tron 2.0

DaftPunk2

Upcoming Film Scores have had it confirmed to them by Walt Disney Pictures that French Electro giants Daft Punk will be providing the score for Tron 2.0 (or TR2N), the sequel to 1982’s cyberspace blockbuster.

It seems to me that this could be absolutely perfect. Daft Punk have dabbled in film before but this will be their first full score for a major movie, if they can pull it off I really see this being something special!

I just hope they get David Warner back as the Master Control Program!

Robyn rocks with Røyksopp

robyn

Well, if I was looking forward to the new Røyksopp album, Junior, before, I am seriously exited about it now I’ve heard ‘The Girl And The Robot’ featuring, Modular signed, Swedish ElectroPop nutcase Robyn.

Possibly the most Pop track have ever done, certainly since ‘Remind Me’, I could really see this being a single. There’s not much to say except that this song is brilliant!

Check out this radio rip (complete with Norwegian DJ!):

♫ Røyksopp (Feat. Robyn) – The Girl And The Robot (Radio Rip) (zShare) (MediaFire)

Gotta’ be in the running for one of the tunes of the year.

Robyn is just one af many names associated with the album. Other contributions are rumoured to be coming from the likes of Lykke Li and The Knife.

‘Junior’ is out on March 23rd on Wall Of Sound.
