Good Luck At The Gunfight

GoodLuckAtTheGunfight

First off, let me make it absolutely clear, Good Luck At The Gunfight is a genius name for a band.

Secondly, you gotta’ hear this stuff. These three guys from San Francisco are attacking the whole ‘French House’ thing with the sensibilities of a Rock band, Like Justice and Kavinsky jamming in a garage.

GL@TG’s sound is awash with 80’s synth lead riffs up against alternating Rock and Dance drums A sound where sawtooth waves trade places with lush pads. One minute harsh, the next sweet.

Sure it’s demo stuff, sure the production could use a couple of tweaks (not too much though!) but GL@TG have only just started out. If they continue to rock synths as hard as they are doing now the the future could well be theirs.

Good Luck At The Gunfight could easily hold their own against the ‘big-boys’ of Electro-House.

And their MySpace is terrifyingly pink on pink!

The Filthy Dukes’ album is out tomorrow!

Filthy Dukes‘ début album, ‘Nonsense In The Dark’ hits the shops tomorrow and it’s a seriously exiting prospect.

Featuring guest vocals from the likes of Sam Dust of Late Of The Pier, The Maccabees’ Orlando Weeks, frYars, Plastic Little & Tommy Sparks it should be a clubby Electro monster with an emphasis on proper songs.

We already raved about the single ‘This Rhythm’ here, so now you can check the video.

‘Nonsense In The Dark’ will be available tomorrow from any of the below links:

Heartbreak reMixes La Roux

There are a few reMixes of La Roux’s forthcoming second single ‘In For The Kill’ knocking around, and there will be more to come I bet, but this one has to be my favourite so far.

No surprise it comes courtesy of Heartbreak, who bring a real, retro, Italo, feel to the table. This really wouldn’t be out of place on a mid-late 80’s dancefloor!

Kinda’ miss the “Ooooo, Ooooo”s though…

Both La Roux and Heartbreak are more than worthy of your attention.

SCNDL & Drama

SCNDL

I’m lovin’ this track ‘Drama’ by SCNDL, it’s got everything you’d want from a dark Electro dance tune, there’s even some industrial percussion in there. Noisy and funky at the same time, and Electro-House killer!

♫ SCNDL – Drama (Original Mix) (zShare) (MediaFire)

SCNDL are recent signings to Coco Machete and so have got the likes of Fukkk Offf and Dog Tags to perform reMix duties.

Camden Crawl ‘09

CamdenCrawl

This year’s Camden Crawl is only just over a month away and, while many of my esteemed blogging peers the other side of the Atlantic are getting exited about SXSW, I get this lot on my doorstep…

Filthy Dukes, Kissy Sell Out, Frankmusik, Toddla T, Little Boots, CHEW LiPS, The Count & Sinden, Dan Black, Datarock, Marina And The Diamonds, Sportsday Megaphone, V.V. Brown, Drums Of Death, Heartbreak & The Whip…and a whole bunch of Indie bands too.

All over two days. All, literally, three minutes from my house!

Actually, this may be some kind of smug post…or it could be a recommendation, seriously, if you’re in the area this will be one hell of a weekend.

Tickets still available.

Sneaky Sound System

Tonight I’m off to see Electro stars Sneaky Sound System and as has become customary (when I remember), here’s a video of theirs to mark the occasion.

This is the video for their hit ‘I Love It’, which is pure ElectroPop gold:
