Almost as a companion peice to Adrian Lux’s ‘Alive’ featuring The Good Natured, here he is reMixing The Good Natured’s new single ‘Video Voyeur’.
It’s got all the elements we loved about ‘Alive’, Sarah’s unique vocals seeming to add a new dimension to Lux’s Electro-House sounds, which would normally come across full of cheese. Here he get’s even more full-on Ibiza, and whilst not quite ad good as their previous collaboration, Lux’s rEMix of ‘Video Voyeur’ is still a big, confusing but wonderful, peak time tune.

This week we are tuning over the Goin’ Old School reins to Manchester’s Italo/SynthWave guru Kid Machine:
Clay Pedrini – New Dream from 1984 “A short vid today but worth it and possibly another haircut for 2012. He’s got a great look, his dance moves remind me of ‘trying to spot a fly’’, and I like that!. He kinda’ reminds me of an 80’s Science Teacher, but he and his music are SO fucking cool. I’m told he still performs to this day, he’s a friend on Facebook, I need to hassle him more”

Is this the first time you’ve had internet access in the last 12 hours? In that case let me break the news to you, Miike Snow are back with a brand new track.
‘Devil’s Work’ is the first new tune from the Swedish trio to lead into their new album release in March. Full of pomp and grandeur, ‘Devil’s Work’ layers horns and a big string section over the repetitive piano riff and electronic noodling. whilst it hasn’t got the bounce of catchiness of ‘Animal’ or ‘Silvia’, it is a pretty majestic comeback.
Miike Snow’s new album is due for release in March 2012.

‘Walking Like Children’ is the first single from Canadian ElectroPop duo SolarSolar’s début album for Binary Entertainment.
If this track is any indication of what to expect on the full length record then we’re in for a dreamlike treat. ‘Walking Like Children’ seems to dwell at the point where the laid back retro beach party sounds of Dreamwave meet the deep moods and beats of Trip-Hop (and being a Dreamwave fan from Bristol, that kinda’ appeals to me!). With some interesting instrumentation and an attractive quirkiness to the music, SolarSolar new single is definitely one of the better chill out tracks to be released for a while.

SynthWave legend and driving force behind the likes of Zombi & Miracle Steve Moore will be releasing a split album with AE Paterra A.K.A. Majeure (the rest of Zombi) next year titled ‘Brainstorms’.
As a taster, check out ‘Enhanced Humanoid’, a dark, smokey peice of Vangelis-esque future soundtrack. Driven by arpeggios that lend the track and Italo, almost EBM quality and a nervous energy that is enhanced by the beautiful, yet slightly tense, melodies. The whole record will definitely be something to look forward to for gritty Sci-Fi electronics and synthetic atmospheres.

Outrun Electro staple Lazerhawk has dropped a storming mix of one of his favourite NES tunes ‘Underworld (Dungeon)’ from Legend Of Zelda.
Starting off with a nice ChipTune recreation the track some kicks into some menacing digital bass and a sweeping synth rendition of the original arpeggio progression. Lazerhawk’s reMix is a fun, and highly listenable, mash up between an 8-Bit classic and some awesome night drive Electro.

‘Take Me There’ is the new single from Scratch Massive and features the vocal stylings of Bronski Beat originator Jimmy Somerville.
Ramon Ayala directs the video with beautiful cinematography and a pacing that perfectly matches the slow pump ElectroPop track.

Dutch Funkmeister Shook’s latest reMix is of The Ting Tings’ forthcoming single ‘Hang It Up’.
It should be unsurprising by now, but Shooks version of the tune is pure Electro Boogie gold. Classic Moog-esque bass synths dance in and out of slap bass licks to create this funky, undulating undercurrent to the track, leaving room for vocal snatches and some of the most intricate, complex programming I have heard in ages. Shook continues to amaze.

Is it just me or has it been ages since we heard anything new from Canadian SynthWave guy Miami Nights 1984?
Well, fear not, he’s back with a brand new track and it was worth the wait. ‘Ocean Drive’ is an easy, breezy slice of Italo flavoured Dreamwave. The combination of synth and cowbell is surely always a winner and ‘Ocean Drive’ is full of both amidst a bouncy bassline and lilting melody. But it’s when the solo kick in that this track really takes it to the next level, and takes you with it.
