New single from Vanbot

Vanbot

Woo-Hoo! Here’s the new single from Swedish ElectroPop queen Vanbot!

Proving once and for all that the awesomeness that was her self-titled début album of last year wasn’t a one off. ‘Got To Get Out’ is a sublime and atmospheric slice of DancePop. Unmistakably Scandinavian and majestic ‘Got To Get Out’ is euphoric ElectroPop with a sense of urgency. In her own words “’Got To Get Out’ is about my hometown Stockholm and how it’s filled with people experiencing a sense of isolation and separation, how it makes you feel lonely in a crowd,” she explains. “It’s fascinating that people can live so close together without really noticing one another. It’s about exploring the city nightlife and the tendencies people have to chase after the experiences that will cause the best story to tell the next day instead of enjoying the happiness of the moment.”.

Crystal Castles’ ‘Suffocation’ video

Crystal Castles’ new video for ‘Suffocation’, taken from their second self-titled album, sees Alice gothed up mocking around an abandoned Ney York mansion.

The clip was directed by follow Castle Ethan Kath as part of a shoot for VS. Magazine.

Long time Crystal Castle cohorts, LA’s  noisy Indie-Electro outfit HEALTH have whipped up a pretty deep and hypnotic mix of the tune for a forthcoming reMix package.

Brand new track from U-Tern

u-tern

Sometimes you just gotta’ love the way music can be distributed these days. U-Tern wrote this tune last night, recorded it and upped it to SoundCloud and boom, here we are with another cool jam from him. Still warm from being freshly baked!

Big funky synth bass is the focus here, with a riff that’s addictive as hell. This bassline will stick in your head all day. Layered up with lush synths and a wicked vocal hook, by the time the piano comes in you’re hooked. Both as part of Oliver and solo, U-Tern can always be trusted to deliver the Dreamwave goods.

U-Tern – You Don’t Know Me

He’s also just uploaded ‘Da Da Daa Daa’, a break from character  and a Dubstep juggernaut.

New track from Perseus

Perseus

French Express main man Perseus is spoiling us these days, not only with his labels awesome release but with some pretty exciting deep Disco sounds of his own recently.

His latest tracks, ‘Seychelles’ is a ultra-smooth ‘90’s House jam. With a Tropical flavour Perseus takes us on a relaxing cruise with an old school FM bassline and some seriously slick production. The whole track has a slightly dreamlike quality, like when you’re just totally lost in a magical night out. It’s also loaded with early ‘90’s nostalgia, but never sounding dated. Perseus has nailed the vibe he was going for with this track which has us looking forward to the next EP.

Icarus’ unique albums

Icarus

You’re either going to love this, or hate it. But you can’t knock the fact that the concept for IDM act Icarus’ new album is something pretty special.

Their new release, ‘Fake Fish Distribution, is limited to 1000 copies. what’s interesting about that is each copy will be unique. Using generative programming techniques Icarus have crafted and experimental synthesizer odyssey that morphs itself, which they recorded 1000 times.  “Icarus’ album, Fake Fish Distribution (FFD), uses generative and parametric software techniques to create 1000 unique records. FFD comes in the form of a vast array of structured variations on the album’s musical content, feeding unique versions to each unique listener. The album is available as a limited edition, via the normal medium of music distribution — the media file download — with each of the 1000 versions only being sold once and in sequential order. Upon purchase, you become the owner of that unique version.” Here’s a taste of what to expect if you happen to buy album number 500.

New track from Worship

worship

Sometimes life throws you an unexpected treat, this morning it comes in the form of a cosmic new tune from Worship.

‘Saturn 4’ is definitely my tune of the day, it’s a head on collision between ‘70’s Disco and Sweeping SynthWave. With a Moroder groove and some massive Disco strings the track has got a nice nostalgic feel, but this is juxtaposed with some serious space age synthetics. 2m34s in, once you hit the “Rock It, Don’t Stop It” drop, you’ll be hooked in. This is what we’re getting down to in the future, in fact this might have been what they were getting down to on Buck Rodgers.

Let Em Riot

Let Em Riot

Let Em Riot is a project out of Orange County who’s music is electronic Pop in the best tradition of ‘80’s teen movie soundtrack fodder.

His latest tune, ‘Lovers And Losers’, the first taste of his forthcoming début full length record, is a wonderfully nostalgic affair.  Shot through with that strain of melancholy that signifies all the best ‘80’s anthems, this slice of SynthPop whist keeping things Poppy and danceable. Let Me Riot has really nailed the retro Pop sound, without resorting to cheese or parody ‘Lovers And Losers’ is epic , passionate Pop music to soundtrack your teenage heartbreaks.
