Thomas Dolby, occasional unsung hero of SynthPop. The man needs more recognition. ‘She Blinded Me With Science’, his 1982 breakthrough tune, is still a classic. Also, Magnus Pyke getting down!

Follow @electronicrumorThe consistently amazing Cosmonaut Grechko has just (really, just!) dropped a new tune on his SoundCloud page.
‘?’ (not sure whether that’s a title or a lack of title) is an instrumental Cosmic DiscoPop extravaganza that both sends you to the stars and grounds you on the dancefloor. Victor once gain works his way through layers of stunning electronics grounded with a solid groove and topped with distant, floaty vocal samples. The whole track conjures up an atmosphere of chilling on the grass, looking up at the stars after an awesome night.
-Edit- Victor got in touch to drop some science on this track. It’s now actually a brand new track but a mashup/re-edit/sample fest that features a Cosmonaut Grechko instrumental with ‘Jumper’ by Capsule, the Coupons rmx of Show Your Shoe’s ‘Azur Indigo Prisma Safran Marmor’ and a few samples from Mille’s ‘Crysteena’. Which, to be honest, all went right over my head. I can definitely hear the SYS/C and Capsule now it’s been pointed out to me. What an awesome, and slick, soundclash!

Follow @electronicrumorI’ll say it, Mille’s ‘Crysteena’ must rank as one of my all time favourite tunes, so it’s awesome to see the Swede back with a brand new reMix of Foster The People’s ‘Call It What You Want’.
From the opening bar this is synth heaven, but I would expect no less from Mille. The man is a master of both 80’s synth sounds and modern dancefloor production, and when the two meet magic happens. This reMix is a masterclass in retro ElectroPop; soaring and shimmering synths, FM bass, electro toms, all executed with a perfect groove. Milles riffs accentuate just the right parts of the original track to up the catchiness and make the vocals suddenly really epic.

Follow @electronicrumorOnly Children are Chicago based collective of DJs and producers who, after a string of edits and reMixes, have just released their début artist single on Nuclear Family.
‘Don’t Stop’ is quite a stunning début. Taking New York Disco bass, intricate Indie-Electro synth work and New Order-esque vocals and washing the whole thing in a sheen of effortless Indie Disco cool, Only Children have created a summer hit that is catchy with a groove you can’t ignore. This is how 21st century ElectroPop should sound, intelligent, funky and slick, as much for the dancefloor as the headphones. Not only is the track awesome but the line up of reMix talent is pretty amazing too. Amongst the reMix package MiGHty mOUse work their magic with a smooth organ led Disco rework, Hey Champ!’s glitterball Disco reMix is ridiculously infections, and Bit Funk provide my favourite mix with a deep late night drive of a Dreamwave mix.

Follow @electronicrumorMr. Ren Riz dropped a couple of new tunes over the weekend, that’s the kind of thing that makes the Monday morning trawl through the inbox worth while!
‘Alright’ is a straight-up dancefloor rocker. It’s hands-in-the-air uplifting with a twisted disco bassline and and old school House vibe that is just the right side of cheese. ‘Electrique Blanc’ on the other hand, is a mid-tempo electronic epic. A pounding journey though sweeping synthesizer atmospheres, accompanied by an nice 80’s appreciated bassline. Like his fellow Antipodean Beaumont, Ren Riz is applying his skills as a N-Disco producer to slower tracks with powerful results.
Ren has also recently reMixes Bingo Players’ ‘Cry (Just A Little)’, which he Funks up and filters to the max.

Follow @electronicrumorNashville’s finest ElectroFunk exports Jensen Sportag have turned their attention to reMixing the new single from Memory Tapes.
Taken from the free ‘Memory Tapes Tour EP’, a collection of reMixes, the Sportags’ reMix of ’Wait In The Dark’ is a dreamy affair. The solid backbeat acts as a hypnotising rock for the waves of lush synths and distant guitars to crash over. It’s a real chilled summer hit that I can imaging we’ll be listening to for a while.
