[Audio] Moon Boots reMixes Florrie’s ‘Little White Lies’

Bristolian Xenomania drummer come Pop superstar Florrie has just released her latest single, Little White Lies, and amongst the plethora of reMix talent she has enlisted to rework the track is Disco showstopper Moon Boots who takes the track and gives it a tasty House makeover. We’ve had hints of this track singe late last year, mostly in the form of mix rips (Moon Boots himself played it during his Boiler Room set) but now the tune is out in the open.

Moon Boots used the lush, ethereal tone of Florrie’s voice to cast a nice haze over a punchy House track Pulsating synth bass and starlight chimes play out cheekily over the track and Mr. Boots rolls Little White Lies over a relentless Chicago beat. Easy-going, yet an immense dancefloor tune, Moon boots delivers the goods with this one. Come the chorus and Florrie kicks into full sassy Pop mode as she croons over Moon Boots deep soundtrack. Irresistible.

[Audio] Blende reMixes Kraak & Smaak’s ‘Just Wanna’ Be Loved’

London based Swede Blende has deftly delivered a brand new reMix. New Blende tracks are always something to get excited about, let’s not forget the man came first in our top tracks of 2013 with his storming Rikki, and each new tune draws us further into his world. His latest is a mix of the new single from House duo Kraak & Smaak; Just Wanna’ Be Loved, itself taken from their 2013 album Chrome Waves.

Creating a laid back Sci-Fi Disco mood, Blende peppers his track with the kind of retro-future synths that we’ve come to love from him. Easing New York Disco-House legend Joi Cardwell’s mellow diva vocals over the waves of funkified tones Blende keeps the beats tight, but layers cheeky purcussion. As the spikey leads rise toward the tracks finale you’re drawn deeper and deeper into the robo-Disco groove and by the time the five and a half minutes reach their end, you’ll be reaching for repeat.

[Download] Louis La Roché’s ‘The Way She Makes Me Feel’

Nu-Disco producer Louis La Roché has been away for a while. It’s been almost a year since he released his last EP, Composure, and the man has spent the last twelve months holed up in the studio playing with sounds and moods. He’s about to release some brand new material in the form of the Dusty Cassette EP, which is due for release this week. As a precursor to the EP dropping, Louis has given away this extra track to give you a taste of what’s to come. Check out The Way She Makes Me Feel.

Giving late 80s Soul a funky dancefloor update, Louis lays down the law of his new EP. Gritty sounds, tape noise, old school vibes, Dusty Cassette really sounds like it will live up to it’s name. The Way She Makes Me Feel combines a classic R&B sound, with a little LA funk and a host of Nu-disco editing. The hazy result has got an almost Chillwave-y feel to it and is perfect Sunday listening. The EP should be interesting.

[Download] Ali Jamieson edits David Bowie’s ‘Magic Dance’, the Duckula theme and Mel Brook’s ‘To Be Or Not To Be’

Producer, teacher, multi-instrumentalist, Heavy Disco label boss and electronic rumors alumni Ali Jamieson has been mucking around lately. The funny thing is though, Ali Jamieson mucking around tends to be quite a bit better than many Nu-Disco producers trying to be serious.

What needs to be said, Ali has taken on David Bowie’s Labyrinth destroying Magic Dance with surprising complexity, the Duckula theme tune, which is just amazing (for non British, or very young, readers Count Duckula was a badass cartoon int he 80s) and Mel Brooks’ To Be Or Not To Be (The Hitler Rap) (which, if you don’t know; welcome to comedy). Weird, nostalgic, amazing robo-Boogie ensues.

[Audio] Orsun’s ‘Always Tomorrow’

London based producer Orsun is the latest addition to the excellent Nude Disco stable and seems to be bringing a little Space Synth to the label. Anyway, we can’t tell you much about her,or him, because there is nothing to tell. But, despite being shockingly appalling at having an internet presence (hello Orsun, 2014 called; it was wondering when you were gong to catch up?) the music is actually impressive for such a newcomer to music and it’s début, Always Tomorrow, will draw you in with it’s epicness.

Like a mid-90s take on late-70s Italo, Always Tomorrow plays with those retro futuristic themes but with modern digital sounds and clean production. There’s a slight euphoric Trance angle amidst the waves of vintage-a-like Sci-Fi synths; and the arrangement is a true journey throughout the track’s SynthWave-y five minutes with some nice changes of mood along the way. Sit back, relax and sink into Orsun’s electronic world, but be prepared for lift off.

[Download] Moustache Machine’s ‘Live Fast’

Some breezy Electro Funk right about now from one of the masters of the genre, French Disco don Moustache Machine. The latest in his series of Sunday Jams this new tune is suitable for any day of the week. Pay attention while the Parisian producer gets his multi-instrumentalist groove on with Live Fast.

Live Fast plays out like an entire soundtrack to an early 80s action-comedy. It’s all in here, the theme, the introspective moments, the against-all-odds bit, the triumph; all se to a funkin’ slab bass and jazzy electric piano. Moustache Machine’s bassline is pure funk heaven, and doesn’t let up for the entire three and a bit minutes, giving the track it;s core. Meanwhile the man plays out various themes, intertwining them into a whole and laying out squelchy synths, loose piano and cheeky retro stabs. Madness!

[Audio] Goldroom’ ”Till Sunrise’

You’d have to have been living under a rock the past couple of weeks, or maybe you just don;t write for a music blog, not to have been hammered with ‘preMixes’ if the new single from the producer of the mist blissful music in the world, Goldroom. It was actually a very interesting concept, release the stems for reMixing before anyone has heard the original and let creativity ensue, but as much as we love Josh we just hid under the aforementioned rock until the man himself dropped the original version of the track. which is now; so “hello world””

‘Till Sunrise features Australian electronic producer Mammals and was well worth the wait. I know we quite often refer to stuff as soundtracking the summer; but in real life as soon as the sun starts to shine we reach for some Goldroom tunes, and ‘Till Sunrise will be pushing it’s way toward the top of that pile. A slo-mo Disco dream that swirls hazy snyths, Topical purcussion, and the most warm and inviting of back beats, around your head as Mammals misty vocal rolls over the tune. Too chilled for Disco, to Disco for Chillwave, ‘Till Sunrise hits the sweet spot between the two. Dreamwave was always supposed to sound like this.

UK Disco don MiGHty mOUse is back in business with this tasty reMix of Mason’s Gotta’ Have You Back. The Dutch duo’s new single features vocal work from Hercules And Love Affair collaborator Rouge Mary and is itself a pounding Electro stormer with soul. Listen to MiGHty mOUse groove the track up right nice below while you marvel at just how much Mason enjoy their little cartoon monsters.

Given such a musically tough track to work with, MiGHty mOUse keeps some of that abrasive grind in his reMix. A departure from his typical spaced out Disco goodness, the man flexes his Electro-House muscles with a gritty bassline and a sidechained pump. But don’t think for one minute that means the Disco has left the room, MiGHty mOUse keeps things 100% funky and utterly infectious. [Audio] Say Lou Lou X Lindstrøm’s ‘Games For Girls’

Australian/Swedish majestic ElectroPop sisters Say Lou Lou are already touting the release of their long awaited début album, and it;s not going to be here until early next year! It’ll be called Lucid Dreaming and despite not being available until February 2015, we can already get excited for it with their brand new single, a collaboration with Norwegian Cosmic Disco master Lindstrøm. Let the good times roll!

We have to admit, we found it a immediately a little jarring to hear Say Lou Lou in the context of quirky Scandinavian analog Disco, but as soon as you settle into the groove it all seems to make sense. Say Lou Lou, obviously, appear a lot less serious and a lot more fun as their intertwining vocals bounce over a cheeky arpeggiated bassline and and a sweet plethora of playful synths. It’s good to hear Say Lou Lou branching out in the lead up to their album. If we were interested before, we are super interested now!
