Walter Sobcek – Je Me Souviens (+ NightWaves reMix)

Multi-national duo Walter Sobcek are releasing their début EP for Sismic Music this month and, frankly, it’s pretty awesome!

The title track ‘Je Me Souviens (Original ZHive reMix)’ is a strange combination of uplifting and melancholy, French and English, dancey and dreamy, with some almost baroque phrases that all adds up to a truly satisfying crescendo. It may have just missed the summer but this is pure strain summer haze ElectroPop.

Speaking of summer haze ElectroPop, LA’s kings of the scene NightWaves return the reMixing favour (Walter Sobcek reMixed their ‘Sweet Carrie’) with a smooth, chilled, driving reMix.

Yelle’s new single on Kitsuné

Parisian ElectroPop princess Yelle returns this October with a new single on Kitsuné Music.

Co-written, again, by GrandMarnier & tEPr and produced by Siriusmo, the track ‘La Musique’ is a nice slice of analog French Pop with a hypnotic bassline and leads which cut through the song. Lorenz Rhode’s reMix amps up the deep Disco into serious French-Touch territory with a killer ‘70’s Moog bassline.

Anoraak & Sally Shapiro

French retro synth master Frederic Riviere A.K.A. Anoraak has finally dropped his début album, ‘Wherever The Sun Sets’, and it’s awesome.

It’s everything you’d expect from the long time officer in the Valerie army. Dreamy ElectroPop meets 80’s teen movie soundtrack. Here we can sample for you an alternate mix of the track ‘Don’t Be Afraid’ featuring the vocals of repeat Anoraak collaborator and Italo/Pop heroine Sally Shapiro. Pure bliss!

Crystal Fighters’ ‘Follow’ video

More stop-motion insanity from Crystal Fighters in the form of their new video, for ‘Follow’, directed this time by Ian Pons Jewell.

Slightly less nightmarish than their last video, for ‘In The Summer’ but I still would’nt try to explain it to anyone.

‘Follow’ is released 27th September with Crystal Fighters début album, ‘Star Of Love’ following in 4th October.

Check the title track, it perfectly displays Bag Raider knack for storming dancefloor Disco with Pop sensibilities which those lucky enough to be in Australia this year can sample live as the duo embark on a national tour to promote the album, details here.

Gemini Club & Midnight Conspiracy

Chicago’s Midnight Conspiracy have been responsible for some awesome reMixes in the last year, while we last heard from Gemini Club through their awesome reMix of The Vanish’s ‘Hold On’.

Here we have MC reMixing Gemini Club’s début single ‘Ghost’, throwing into a wonky bass powerhouse. A step apart from their huge Italo reMixes of recent time and, according to their email, a taste of darker and heavier things to come.

All I know is that bass drop slays!

Jupe Jupe

Seattle band Jupe Jupe are looking forward to the release of their début album ‘Invaders’ in October.

The track they dropped of in the electronic rumors Inbox, Something About Love’ is a, slightly Indie influenced, traditional SynthPop jam. It’s the kind of Depeche Mode influences you’d expect from Modern SynthPop but has more of a individual vibe with it’s nice 80’s-esq lead line which plays off the jangly guitars.

‘Invaders’ is released 5th October.

We dropped the track itself last month, which is available on 7”or digital from today, it’s a laidback ElectroPop groove that takes you back to the ‘90’s and the video, directed by Tomas Carlsten & Simon Svéd, had an appropriate late night insomniac quality to it.
