Columbus’ ‘Love Machine’ video by The Crystal Beach

It’s not often that the director of a music video, rather than the artist, contacts electronic rumors but I’m pretty glad Alex Dückminor A.K.A. The Crystal Beach did!

The 25 year old director/designer created this awesome clip for the title track of German DiscoPop act Columbus’ ‘Love Machine’ EP as part of his MA in Moving Image. Taking more than 8 months to complete the video is a synthesizer Sci-Fi extravaganza that is both funny and cool. The track is pretty rockin’ too!

Columbus’ ‘Love Machine’ EP is out not on Estrela.

Miami Horror’s ‘Moon Theory’ video

Yesterday the excellent Melbourne based SynthPop/Dreamwave act Miami Horror unleashed their new video for the track ‘Moon Theory’.

It’s a chilled groove full of interesting synth sounds with a video produced by Pharm productions that features some kind of space cowboy and, er, other stuff…

The single will come with a reMix package from the likes of Punks Jump Up, Baby Monster, Yacht and this one from Sam La More:

Miike Snow; Rabbit

Swedish/US Electro-Indie loons Miike Snow have announced not only a brand new single, ‘The Rabbit’, but also a special deluxe edition of their self titled début album, both next month.

The brand new single, produced by Les Rhythmes Digitales/Zoot Woman main man Stuart Price, will also feature on the re-released album along with some of the best reMixes from the past year’s singles.

The band have premiered the video for ‘The Rabbit’, it’s more straight-up ElectroPop than their previous offerings, it’s clean and slick and really quite awesome!

The video was directed by Andreas Nilsson and shot in Kingston, Jamaica with a small child with a bears and a three legged dog.

The ‘The Rabbit’ single is released 5th July while the new album edition drops 12th July.

Daft Punk aren’t the droids you’re looking for…

Our two favourite droids, Daft Punk , are hanging out with our other two favourite droids in the new adidas Originals advert…

Broken Bells’ ‘The Ghost Inside’ video

Broken Bells (being Danger Mouse and James Mercer from The Shins) premiered their new video, ‘The Ghost Inside’ today over at The Guardian.

The song is quite a cool, laidback, Big Beat/ElectroPop tune that really grown on you with repeated listens, but the video is awesome as hell! A cool and quirky Sci-Fi story starring the smokin’ hot Christina Hendricks (Firefly/Mad Men) with a punch-in-the-gut ending. Just watch it:

Broken Bells self-titled first album is out now.

Friends Electric; new video and reMix

Earlier this month, after featuring a few of their reMixes, we showcased Friends Electric’s debut single ‘Wall Of Arms’, and an wicked Indie-Electro anthem it is to! The official video for the single has just been premiered by the band, it’s a really nicely shot, intimate, performance clip.

Also, the Welsh Indie-ElectroPoppers have dropped their own reMix of the single and it’s a stormer! Combining elements of French House and Dreamwave for maximum effect.

Massive Attack & Martina Topley-Bird’s ‘Psyche’ reMixed

It looks like ‘Psyche’ might have been chosen as the next single from Massive Attack’s ‘Heligoland’ album.

Good choice too, Martina Topley-Bird is one of my favourite vocalists. Here she is stepping in on vocal duties on ‘Teardrop’ during Massive Attack’s US TV début on Jimmy Kimmel Live:

And here’s the video for ‘Psyche’.

LIGHTS’ new video

LIGHTS had dropped the video for her forthcoming single ‘Second Go’ off of her ‘The Listening’ album.

Apparently filmed all in one take! I gotta’ say, I love the 80’s-esq riff in this track.

She’s touring in the UK right now, next weekend sees her Bristol début at the Dot-To-Dot festival. Good times!

‘The Listening’ is out now.

Robyn’s ‘Dancing On My Own’ video

We’re really digging Robyn’s forthcoming single ‘Dancing On My Own’, with its amazing reMix package, the Swedish ElectroPop bundle of insanity (need new Robyn based ‘madness’ adjectives!) has finally débuted the video clip for the track.

It’s Robyn meet’s mid-80’s clips in a head on collision, complete with big hair and not quite dance moves and I swear at one point she attempts the classic James Bond not-so-convincingly-pretending-to-be-making-out-with-someone-by-wrapping-my-arms-round-my-back-and-wobbling-my-head trick!

‘Dancing On My Own’ is an awesome single, be sure to pick it up when it drops.
