Next up is Get Stellar, hailing from Adelaide this duo have just dropped their first EP, ‘This Moment’, which features reMixes from the likes of G.L.O.V.E.S., Def Starr and Nick Supply.
The track itself is a infectious bassline fuelled Nu-Disco stormer that get’s taken to the next Disco level by reMixer extraordinaire G.L.O.V.E.S. who drops string and stabs all over the place. Def Starr’s reMix is slightly more chilled with a summery clubby vibe.

The ‘This Moment’ EP is out now on Hindley Records’
Editors forthcoming single ‘You Don’t Know Love’ will feature a reMix by, none other than, Boys Noize and has débuted on Studio Brussel.
I never really got into Editors but this reMix will have me purchasing the single. With it’s vocodered vocals it builds and builds into a climax that is sure to drive the dancefloor mental.

I know you all feel the same, so to tide you over here is a brand new reMix of CL’s forthcoming single ‘Play Together’ by London’s DJ Jocks which completely changes the song, giving it a early 90’s disco flavour. The FM arpeggiated bassline makes me think of the Arthur Baker reMix of Pet Shop Boys’ ‘In The Night’ (from The Clothes Show!)

Insanity! Compiling a top twenty tracks of 2009 was infinitely harder than the album list, I have no idea how it got finished! Once again, there was so much good music released in 2009, it truly was a wicked year to be into electronic music, just look at that top ten! From established acts like Røyksopp to bands who made 2009 their own such as Filthy Dukes, La Roux and Little Boots to bands that are going to blow up in 2010 like CHEW LiPS and The Vanish, the music we’ve been given in 2009 has set the bar so high for the coming year.
I wish there were more slots, I could have easily made it a top 40 or 50, and like the album list I have probably forgotten some gem I was rockin’ to in January and I’ll probably want to reorder in a few hours. But right now, here’s the list. OK, well, here we go. This is the first of two ‘best of 2009’ posts we have for you and, damn, were they hard. Here we have our top 20 albums of 2009 and there were way more than 20 records that moved us this year. If you though narrowing it down to just 20 was hard, then trying to put them in order was nearly impossible! This year was a good year to be a lover of music generally, and a lover of Electro or ElectroPop specifically. New Young Pony Club, the band that spearheaded the 80’s revival/Modular Recordings/Indie-Electro summer of 2007 in the UK finally return with a new single.
‘Lost A Girl’ is a taste of what to expect from their long awaited second album ‘The Optimist’. More obviously Indie than their previous sound but still laden with interesting synth work, it’s a catchy song that takes a little 80’s SynthPop, a little DFA style Electro and a little early 90’s Indie. Welcome back NYPC!
