Monarchy Vs. Marina

MarinaAndTheDiamonds04

Well, we kinda’ expected a flood of reMixes of Marina And The Diamonds forthcoming single, ‘Hollywood’, and y’know what? that’s no bad thing. Especially when they are of the standard set by Monarchy here!

I’m loving the heavily modulated synth bass, it’s got a really retro, really ‘harsh & warm at the same time’ tone. When the song kicks in proper it takes on a different flavour, all arpeggiated basslines and syncopated leads. Actually, it sounds like a heavily sidechained 80’s TV theme song!

Keep ‘em coming!

‘Hollywood’ is released 1st February 1st followed by Marina’s début album, ‘The Family Jewels’, which drops on 15th February.

Dragonette Vs. Arithmatix! (Michael Di Francesco of Van She)

Dragonette03

Indie-electro darlings Dragonette have roped in the talents of  Michael Di Francesco of Van She fame under the alias of Arithmatix! for a pumping Nu-Disco killer remix.

Loaded with Italo influences and a Disco groove this reMix is gonna’ ram the dancefloors!

I’m insanely jealous of those living in the US right now as Dragonette are touring the states alongside Little Boots and Fan Death. Now that’s gonna’ be a hell of a night out!

Jupiter reMixes Two Door Cinema Club’s new single

TwoDoorCinemaClub02

Man, I absolutely adore Jupiter’s reMix of CHEW LiPS ‘Salt Air’, it made number three in electronic rumors’ top 20 songs of 2009 so I was all up in this reMix of Two Door Cinema Club’s brilliant new single ‘Undercover Martyn’.

Jupiter brings the perfect Electro Disco flavour to the track. Digital slap bass, distorted  analog synths and leads that fly out of the tune are all present and correct. Jupiter seems to be able to do no reMix wrong!

Miike Snow & I Blame Coco

IBlameCoco

Sting’s kid Eliot Sumner, also known as I Blame Coco,  has been getting a lot of blog inches recently, especially with the forthcoming release of her début single ‘Caesar’ which features Scandinavian SynthPop queen Robyn.

What’s interested me is this reMix by one of our favourite acts Miike Snow (who she’s also working with) as they drop heavy beats and a really deep Electronic sound.

‘Caesar’ is released as a limited edition 10” on 1st February.

MMMatthias reMixes Yeasayer

New York rockers Yeasayer seem to get quite a few mentions in the electronic music press, not only did singer Chris Keating appear on Simian Mobile Disco’s ‘Audacity of Huge’ but they seem to be reMix fodder supreme!

German reMix factory MMMatthias completely warps their single ‘ONE’ into a cut-up Electro banger that must have taken days hunched over a sampler, twisting guitar riffs into Electro lead lines.

Marina And The Diamonds; Hollywood reMixes

Marina03

Here at electronic rumors we love Marina And The Diamonds, we can’t help it, it’s just the way it is! If we ever need a break from the hardcore Electronics, Marina is our ‘go to’ gal.

So great news then that Marina’s forthcoming single ‘Hollywood’ (which we featured here) has some great reMix talent backing it up. UK boys Fenech-Soler serve up a storming French style Electro-House mix that really drives and makes fantastic use of the “Oh my god!” line! DFA’s resident Housemeisters The Juan MacLean bring the piano and string stabs for their Dirty House version.

Don’t Wait Animate

Something a little different again, this time in the shape of Don’t Wait Animate, a new, post-Nu-Rave, Indie-Electro act from East London.

Seemingly carving out a new genre all of their own they are kinda’ like Hadouken! with less shouting and more songs, and more influenced by Dubstep rather than The Prodigy. Rimshot Dub beats and noisy electronics provide a base for jagged guitars and socially aware vocals in their forthcoming single “6174” released in April on Barhouse Records.

The band have already jumped at the chance to reMix band-of-the-moment Delphic’s amazing ‘Doubt’, turning it into a heavy, heavy, Dubstep monster!

Don’t Wait Animate are running a reMix competition for their forthcoming release here.

Laurel Halo

LaurelHalo

Reigning things in after a couple of storming dancefloor tunes today, it’s time to chill with NYC singer/songwriter Laurel Halo. Dreamy layers of Electronics and downtempo beats are the order of the day with this track ‘A Single Breath’ which constantly surprises you from one minute to the next creating an evolving listening experience carried along by Laurel’s unique vocals.

Sitting a little more in our comfort zone 😉 is this reMix from Moodgadget producer Mogi Grumbles who gracefully shoehorns what is quite an eclectic tune into an Housey ElectroPop structure.

Cagedbaby reMixes Editors

Editors

I never really got Editors, I’m not adverse to a bit of Indie, but they always struck me as really dull. As material from their next album filers out though it seems they may be taking a dark ElectroPop slant which, so far, is sounding, at least, interesting.

This time last week we posted the Boys Noize reMix of the forthcoming  single ‘You Don’t Know Love’ and now we bring you the Cagedbaby reMix. I love a bit of Cagedbaby and he works his dancey ElectroPop magic here whilst keeping the sombre, dramatic tone.

The track’s called ‘Remedy’ and is taken form the forthcoming album ‘Tons Of Friends’.

‘Remedy’ will be released as a single on 22nd February being backed by this downtempo, almost Electro-Trip-Hop, reMix by Dubstepper Numan.
