Jupiter reMixes Caravan Palace

Check out this pretty spectacularly fun reMix that French ElectroPop duo Jupiter have done for Caravan Palace’s new single ‘Clash’.

The track is looptastic. Infused with more funk than Jupiter’s original efforts this rEMix has all the sweeping vintage synth work we’d expect from the Parisians with an added Nu-Disco flavour. Hypnotic repeating phrases suck you down into the groove while brushing your ears with snatches of the originals vocals.

Christianoshi reMixed by Trademark (Dreamtrak)

Here we have a fun slice of late ‘80’s/early ‘90’s inspired ElectroPop in the form of London Bedroom-Pop artist Christianoshi as reMixed by Trademark (including Oil Horton A.K.A. Dreamtrak).

And yes, Trademark is an anagram of Dreamtrak (or the other way round, I believe Trademark came first). Christianoshi has a lot of cool elements to his vocal performance, for example there’s a load of Marc Almond in there, and it all works perfectly with Trademark’s bouncy Pet Shop Boys-esque ElectroPop. ‘Turst’ is a catchy Pop juggernaut with just the right amount of Italo in the mix to make to dancefloor friendly and to justify the amazing amount of cowbell.

MEN Vs. Lesands

Le Tigre’s JD Samson’s MEN are currently on tour with CSS, which I can imagine is a just a pretty chaotic holiday with occasional shows involved.

To draw attention to this, and to the fact that if you are attending a show you can pick up a limited edition tour 7” featuring CSS and MEN reMixing each other, the band are giving away this reMix of ‘Simutaneously’ be Lesands. Rex The Dog teams up with Kris Menace

Y’know, I wouldn’t have immediate paired Rex The Dog and Kris Menace together, but after hearing their new joint single, ‘Pow!’, the resultant tune is as natural as it is massive sounding. A meeting in the middle between their two sounds.

Rex’s ‘Casio Mix’, however is pure Rex. Analog Electro Disco as only Rex does best and the riff from ‘Pow!’ is perfectly suited to a pure Rex remix, you can tell he had a lot of fun with this track, you know how he loves to be surrounded with analog synths just jamming. After hearing the whole EP this reMix is the real stand out track for me.

More soundtracking to the greatest movie Sylvester never made from 80s Stallone.

If only the original move had a soundtrack so sweet! 80’s Stallone is in full retro synth mode here with a selection of bright chords and infections riffs. You can imagine Mr. Stallone sitting in a studio with a movie playing, Jan Hammer style, whilst writing as the track has a real narrative feel to it. Just not sure Cliffhanger would have been that move, more excellent SynthWave from 80’s Stallone nonetheless.

Alan Braxe reMixes Ford & Lopatin

There’s something for every mood with Alan Braxe’s reMix of Ford & Lopatin’s ‘To Much MIDI (Please Forgive Me)’. Literally. He reMixed it twice, one stormer and one for chilling.

Braxe’s main mix is a full on French Touch juggernaut with a really nice euphoric and otherworldly undercurrent that kinda’ zones you out and takes you away when listening to it. The bonus reMix is a stark contract though, and downtempo synth peice, a dreamlike, atmospheric, slowed down Disco peice.
