Penguin Prison: ‘Golden Train’ reMixes

Penguin Prison’s new single ‘Golden Train’ is less than a month from release. I used to call PP Bedroom Pop, I’m not sure if I still can, his sound had defiantly got bigger and the new single is the best example of this so far.

Some awesome reMixes grace the single too. Sam Sparro delivers what i consider to be the best, it’s a Disco Pop workout that got an infectious groove that’s just a suited to the dancefloor as the radio. UK outfit Boxed In turn in a broken Techno/Disco mix with added Jazz piano!

‘Golden Train’ is shaping up to be an excellent single package!

T.B.S. – The Bloody Sisters

T.B.S. (A.K.A. The Bloody Sisters) are a Parisian duo who are bringing the fuck back to us after all this dark synth stuff! 😉

‘Rock Your Body (T.B.S. AutoreMix)’ features American singer Enois Scroggins and Frenchman Rpiz on the talkbox and is some severely groove laden French Touch to chill you out with a rolling bass you can’t resist! The Frenchmen have also reMixed Walter Sobcek’s awesome ‘Je Me Souviens’ layering the dreamy SynthPop with their own Disco style.

The prefect comedown to a stressful day!

Monarchy & Penguin Prison reMix new Jamiroquai single

Mid-90’s funkateers Jamiroquai are kicking back this year with a new album and someone on team Jamiroquai has good taste when it comes to picking reMixers ‘cos you can’t get better than Monarchy and Penguin Prison!

‘White Knuckle Ride’ will be the lead single from the forthcoming album ‘Rock Light Dust Star’ and it gets transformed into two awesome slices of DiscoPop by Monarchy and Penguin Prison. Both versions are top quality but if I had to, gun to the head, favour one I think it would be Monarchy’s ElectroPop/Nu-Disco slant (although PP’s had a wicked lead line!)

Wave Machines

Wave Machines are an Indie-Electro outfit from Liverpool with an eclectic sound. Sounding a little like a collision between a more guitar driven Clock Opera and the Bee-Gees the four piece are releasing a new Digital EP, along with various vinyl bundles.

The EP has some nice tracks on it but the standout has to be this reMix of ‘Keep The Lights On’ by UK reMixers Artwork. The reMix takes the vocals to where they were meant to be with a smooth cosmic Disco groove and a real analog feel.

The Aikiu ‘Just Can’t Sleep’

The Aikiu, brainchild of French producer Alex Aikiu and has just released his first single, ‘Just Can’t Sleep’ on Abracada. It a pretty sweet slice of Indie-Disco and an ode to late 70’s/early 80’s New York clubland. fittingly the man has been working with Chic’s Nile Rogers. It’s got a lot of early 80’s Pop in there as well as Disco, but however you want to classify it, it’s a damn good début.

Check the video:

The single comes packaged by reMixes from Egyptrixx, Azari & III, Mighty Mouse and Clement Meyer. As well as that fine lot check out these two free reMixes. Sovnger’s mutation into a French-Electro banger and chilled, almost Dubby, Space Disco from Stupid Human.

VeemanJanssen

You may remember a while back we featured the solo efforts of Le Le’s Rimeroni Vumani as Rimer London, well now the guy’s back and about to drop and EP for Instant Reply with his new project, VeemanJanssen.

With his recording partner, designer Janssen A.K.A. Parra, their deep love for all things Disco and Italo shine through in this smooth as silk summer jam. I’m just sitting here at the keyboard, sun shining through the window, loving the deep analog bassline in this track, I have a feeling this is gonna’ be on repeat most of the afternoon!

VeemanJanssen – Put The Freeze On

The EP is released 16th July, keep an eye on Instant Replay for news.

Monarchy Vs. Holy Ghost! in full

Monarchy02

As a follow up to our post earlier in the week featuring a Radio Rip of the Holy Ghost! reMix of Monarchy’s amazing forthcoming single, ‘Love Get Out Of The Way’, we can now preview for you the whole song.

There are whispers that the reMix wasn’t supposed to be played as it may have been rejected, but now with the blog hype the track gained this week it may make the cut! This is just rumour though.

Check the original post to hear us going on about Moog funk, and listen to the whole track below.

Holy Ghost! reMix Monarchy’s forthcoming single!

monarchy02

New Yorkers Holy Ghost! have really gone to funky town with Monarchy’s forthcoming single ‘Love Get Out Of My Way’.

Premiered on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 Show last Friday the reMix is a massive slice of Moog Funk. You can hear little elements of the component parts creeping in here and there. Little bits of Monarchy and little bits of Holy Ghost!’s NYC Disco all presided over by a huge Moog riff.

Funkier than we are used to with Monarchy? Yes. Awesome as hell? Yes!

Worship

Worship

Swiss producer Worship is, not only responsible for some of the best reMixes of the last year or so but also a purveyor of mighty fine Space-Synth tinged Dreamwavey Electro-House.

He recently dropped a new tune, ‘Starcrash’ which, as the name suggests, is a cosmic analog odyssey that soars along at light speed to the timing of a solid House beat. Those retro synth hits and screaming lead lines are irresistible!

Worship – Starcrash

Check out one of his older tracks too, ‘Cosmic Roller Girls’ is an alien Disco jam of the kind that would make Buck Rodgers (in the 80’s) get his groove on!
