Louis La Roché’s ‘The Wall’ video

Louis La Roché‘s new video for ‘The Wall’ is a nice companion to the ‘Gimme Gimme’ (it’s double A-side companion) clip.

I actually think this one is a little more interesting and has got more of a fun summer vibe that goes perfectly with the Nu-Disco stormer.

The ‘Gimme Gimme’/‘The Wall’ single is out now on Ever After Records.

Gigamesh’s new EP

Gigamesh

Nu-Disco producer Gigamesh has had a awesome year, building his reputation with some seriously solid reMixes. The man releases his long awaited self-titled début EP this week.

The lead track on the EP is ‘When You’re Dancing’, featuring Induce, is a boogie fuelled DiscoPop tune with a Quincy Jones vibe to it as Gigamesh adds a ton of soul to his synths and Induce brings a Jackson 5 quality to the vocals. reMixes come from Cassian and RAC. Cassian turn up the horn section and piano for a full on Disco workout while RAC brings things right back to the synthetic with their roboDisco take on the track.

Gigamesh has also crafted a follow up to his ‘Sunlight’ reMix of Theophilus London’s ‘I Stand Alone’, this ‘Moonlight’ version is pure ‘80’s soundtrack awesomeness, the prefect fit for your next training montage.

Joe Goddard reMixes Tyson

Hot Chip man Joe Goddard is on a roll this year, and surely the busiest guy in UK Electro. From Hot Chip, to 2Bears, to his solo stuff he just continually churns out to quality electronics.

Electro Quirk-Popster  Tyson is the recipient of Mr. Goddard’s latest work. The original is transformed into a deep, abstract, slice of Pop House with just the right amount of Disco to keep it funky while Tyson warbles over the top.

Goin’ Old School: Farley ‘Jackmaster’ Funk (Feat. Darryl Pandy) – Love Can’t Turn Around

Absolutely everything about the video for Farley ‘Jackmaster’ Funk and Darryl Pandy’s 1987 House breakthrough ‘Love Can’t Turn Around’ is ridiculous, even at the time it was terrible. Massive track though.

digitalfoxglove’s ‘Alone Together, Alone Forever’

forever_lolz

I could have written ‘exclusive’ or ‘world première’ up in the title, but I really can’t be bothered ‘cos I hate that blog politics bullshit. Let’s all just post good music, huh? This is a world première, but let’s hope it gets picked up by loads of other blogs and this awesome slice of SynthWave/Nu-Disco spreads across the music-blogosphere like cancer.

Something about digitalfoxglove always troubles me, he deserves far more recognition than he gets. Some of this is because it takes him a million years to finish anything, but mostly I haven’t got a clue why he isn’t up there with the big names of the Nu-Disco scene, because he is easily as good, if not better, as any of them when it comes to arrangement and production. Just take ‘Alone Together, Alone Forever’, the main riff highlights DFG’s skills, it’s so catchy it’ll be stuck in your head for a good few hours after listening, it’s also just the right side of euphoric that’ll it’ll just have everyone of the dancefloor grinning their faces off. And it’s the dancefloor where this track should live, driven along by a hard beat and growling bass for your feet and sparkling synths for your head, ‘Alone Together, Alone Forever’ need to be in the big room, now!

Chairlift’s new track

Chairlift

Chairlift didn’t used to be this funky did they?

The Brooklyn (now) duo get into a mid-‘80’s boogie frame of mind in their new track ‘Peculiar Paradise’ , oh it’s got all the hallmarks of Chairlift’s introspective electronic Indie but with added New Jack Swing. The result is a weird, but pretty awesome, mixing bowl full of experimental Pop, Indie-Electro and ‘80’s electronic Soul with a shoulder moving bassline, hints of sax & Labyrinth-esque chimes and a surprisingly catchy vocal hook.

Chairlift – Peculiar Paradise

Chairlift’s new album should be out early 2012.
