Pearl Fiction’s new video

Pearl Fiction is one third of now defunct Sweedish ElectroPop outfit Zeitgeist .

His new single, ‘Run’, is a nice nostalgic Pop track with a suitably mid-‘80’s stylish video.

Pearl Fiction’s debut album, ‘Painted Wolf’, is due for release on 25th January.

Cosmonauts reMix Moby

moby

See Moby in this picture? Doesn’t he look sad? Well he is!

He’s sad because his record label saw fit to deem this dub version of Cosmonauts reMix of his forthcoming single ‘The Right Thing’ not ‘on the single ‘material. We’d be sad too, although the vocal version of the mix will be on the single, this dub is an awesome instrumental Disco groove with an Italo bassline..

Niki & The Dove X Goldroom

Niki-and-the-Dove

Goldroom, A.K.A. Binary and NightWaves main man Josh, is just going from strength to strength with each release, and gathering a momentum and reputation that I can’t remember happing this quickly for a while.

Well deserved too, his beach party Disco sound is finding fans all over for its smooth grooves and attention to detail. His latest reMix, from  Niki & The Dove is a soundclash between a chilled peice of Tropical and a ‘90’s House anthem that I can’t help but think was released a few months too late. This one could have been the sound of the summer.

Niki & The Dove – Mother Protect (Goldroom reMix)

‘Mother Project’ is taken from Nikki & The Dove’s ‘The Drummer’ EP, out now.

Marsheaux reMix Mylène Farmer

mylene_farmer

The queens of Greek SynthPop Marsheaux have reMixed French artist Mylène Farmer’s ‘‘N’Aie Plus D’Amertume’, from her slightly ElectroPop influenced last album ‘Bleu Noir’.

The downtempo ballad is transformed into a kicking, upbeat, SynthPop beast complete with Marsheaux’s trademark icy digital synths cutting through the mix. Once again Marsheaux provide us with another clean, crisp synthetic slice of Electro quality.

Tesla Boy’s ‘In Your Eyes’

tesla boy

Later this month the raining champions of Russian ElectroPop, Tesla Boy, crash back into the ring with a new track on the forthcoming twelfth edition of Kitsuné Music’s ‘Maison’  compilation series.

‘In Your Eyes’ is pure smooth Tesla Boy and a welcome return. A mid-tempo Dreamwave groover that perfectly bridges the gap between SynthPop and Nu-Disco. Not sparing the funk in the bass department, ‘In Your Eyes’ also has the crooning excellence of an early ‘80’s ballad. Fellow Mullet Records alumni Satin Jackets step up for reMix duties, bringing their brand of soulful Disco to the tune in their percussion lead late night version.

The Blisters Boyz reMix Madonna

madonna

This reMix of Madonna’s ‘Music’ from France’s The Blisters Boyz is too good.

It’s fun, it’s funky, it plays off the original well and uses the vocals in a pretty innovative way and most importantly, this is gonna’ kill dancefloors. The Blisters Boyz have taken an instantly recognisable hit and turned it into an uplifting Nu-Disco juggernaut. The reMix is also sprinkled with samples from Madonna’s next single ‘Give Me All Your Love’ too.

Little Boots is back!

little-boots

Just typical. You wait around for mew music from Little Boots for over a year then, as soon as you’re away for the weekend she drops a new single!

So, yeah, if you have any kind of interest in electronic music and an internet connection then this isn;t going to be news of any kind, but this weekend Little Boots released ‘Shake’. First heard a couple of weeks ago in the ‘Shake Until Your heart Breaks’ mixtape this new single will effortlessly alleviate any fears of out tiny ElectroPop champion abandoning us for pastures Folk. ‘Shake’ is a deep House basslined track which works very well with Victoria’s slightly sultry voice to create a late night clubby groove. A nice ‘90’s Pop House sound and a bit of dancefloor hypnotism are present but wrapped up in a Pop package. All in all an amazing comeback.

‘Shake’ is available right now.

Kid Kasio’s new video

We really look forward to a new Kid Kasio video almost as much as a new Kid Kasio track! The man has an eye for authentic ’80’s visuals as much as an ear for authentic ‘80’s sounds.

His new clip is for ‘Living My Life’ (which was actually the first Kid Kasio track we heard, the track that made us fall in love with his music), if the exotic location looks familiar, that’s because it was filmed on location in Antigua on very the same beach Duran Duran cavorted on for their ‘Rio’ video.

Stay tuned for news regarding Kid Kasio’s début album, exciting stuff!

Freak You reMixes Young Empires

youngempires

Stand by, there’ll be a lot of  reMixes of Young Empires’ new single ‘Enter Through The Sun’ incoming, I know of at least two more that will see the light in the coming weeks.

I’m not especially keen on the original, but all the reMixes I’ve heard so far are top quality. First up we have Freak You, who gives the Indie track as raw ElectroPop feel. There’s a slight chaos going on in Freak You’s reMix that gives the track an underlying nervous energy that drives it along. With some nice builds and an emotionally involving sound this version is a good start to the reMix flood.
