Daft Punk and Darth Vader face off!

Our favourite robots Daft Punk appear in this advert for adidas Originals new Star Wars inspired line.

As Snoop Dogg and David Beckham look on the ad builds to the inevitable confrontation between the Punk and The Dark Lord Of The Sith.

Who’s up for part two?

The Mystic Underground

TheMysticUnderground

Coming to the UK for the first time in 2010 are New York ElectroPoppers The Mystic Underground.

Available next week as a digital release is their new single ‘April Fools Day’, a slice of traditional SynthPop, well executed. I’ve not heard Orchestral Hits since the 90’s but The Mystic Underground are bringin’ ‘em back! Some pretty nice lyrics, with a sweet narrative sit atop this upbeat Modern SynthPop track.

Marina And The Diamonds; Hollywood reMixes

Marina03

Here at electronic rumors we love Marina And The Diamonds, we can’t help it, it’s just the way it is! If we ever need a break from the hardcore Electronics, Marina is our ‘go to’ gal.

So great news then that Marina’s forthcoming single ‘Hollywood’ (which we featured here) has some great reMix talent backing it up. UK boys Fenech-Soler serve up a storming French style Electro-House mix that really drives and makes fantastic use of the “Oh my god!” line! DFA’s resident Housemeisters The Juan MacLean bring the piano and string stabs for their Dirty House version.

Don’t Wait Animate

Something a little different again, this time in the shape of Don’t Wait Animate, a new, post-Nu-Rave, Indie-Electro act from East London.

Seemingly carving out a new genre all of their own they are kinda’ like Hadouken! with less shouting and more songs, and more influenced by Dubstep rather than The Prodigy. Rimshot Dub beats and noisy electronics provide a base for jagged guitars and socially aware vocals in their forthcoming single “6174” released in April on Barhouse Records.

The band have already jumped at the chance to reMix band-of-the-moment Delphic’s amazing ‘Doubt’, turning it into a heavy, heavy, Dubstep monster!

Don’t Wait Animate are running a reMix competition for their forthcoming release here.

Keep and eye on their MySpace for release details:

Laurel Halo

LaurelHalo

Reigning things in after a couple of storming dancefloor tunes today, it’s time to chill with NYC singer/songwriter Laurel Halo. Dreamy layers of Electronics and downtempo beats are the order of the day with this track ‘A Single Breath’ which constantly surprises you from one minute to the next creating an evolving listening experience carried along by Laurel’s unique vocals.

Sitting a little more in our comfort zone 😉 is this reMix from Moodgadget producer Mogi Grumbles who gracefully shoehorns what is quite an eclectic tune into an Housey ElectroPop structure.

Mille Vs. Fear Of Tigers

Mille

What a day for wicked collaborations!

We’ve raved about both Mille and Fear Of Tigers numerous times in the past few months and are exited that Mille has been snapped up by Neon Gold, who apparently, have the best taste in the world. A couple of days ago they dropped Mille’s first 12” ‘Crysteena’.

Combining the best elements of Nu-disco and Dreamwave with massive distorted 8-bit melodies, this track is huge! Fear Of Tigers magic touch beefs up the dancefloor factor so that when those 8-bit leas kick in you just soar away with them.

Tesla Boy reMix Anoraak

Anoraak

Valerie collective staple Anoraak and Russia’s Tesla Boy are both electronic rumors favourites, so the idea of one reMix the other seems just to good to be true, but here it is!

Anoraak’s ‘Nightdrive With You’ hasn’t left my MP3 player since it was released last year, alone with it’s multitude of reMixes, here Tesla Boy do something a bit different, bringing some funky guitars and more of a classic Disco Funk vibe to the ElectroPop tune.

Compare it to the original, those opening keys still send shivers up my spine!

The Human League sign with Wall Of Sound!!!

TheHumanLeague

Big, exiting, news! Finally someone has snapped up The Human League!

It was announce this week that the League have signed a multi-album deal with Wall Of Sound! This is fantastic news, WoS are a cool label, Oakey and the girls will be in good company as the label is home to the likes of Shy Child, Soulwax, Røyksopp, Tiga, tEPr etc… Just thinking about that kind of production and reMix talent getting their hands on The League is damn exiting, as is the fact that we will now be getting new League material!

Mark Jones, head of WoS, (who has apparently been chasing The League for years) said this: “It’s an honour and inspiration to have them signed to Wall Of Sound.  They say ‘never work with you heroes’…but fuck that for starters”. Nicely put! And from Oakey himself: “Emerging from a decade in which everyone seems to have spent their time looking backwards we are delighted to have the opportunity to march forwards once again and attempt to produce new and exciting music in a new and exciting partnership.”  See, everyone’s exited!

Listen to their 1981 single ‘The Sound Of The Crowd’ in celebration!

Cagedbaby reMixes Editors

Editors

I never really got Editors, I’m not adverse to a bit of Indie, but they always struck me as really dull. As material from their next album filers out though it seems they may be taking a dark ElectroPop slant which, so far, is sounding, at least, interesting.

This time last week we posted the Boys Noize reMix of the forthcoming  single ‘You Don’t Know Love’ and now we bring you the Cagedbaby reMix. I love a bit of Cagedbaby and he works his dancey ElectroPop magic here whilst keeping the sombre, dramatic tone.
