Calling In Sick reMixes Bertie Blackman

I first fell in love with Calling In Sick’s music after I heard their storming reMix of Midfield General (Feat. ViLa)’s ‘Disco Sirens’.

The Aussie duo’s latest project is this rework of Bertie Blackman’s ‘Black Cats’ and it’s got that wicked digital slap bass and huge distorted synth riffs that I loved about Calling In Sick’s previous reMixes. This’ll tear up any electro dancefloor!

Ever since Mille’s reMix of Marina And The Diamonds ‘Mowgli’s Road’ I have had a thirst for all reMixes Mille.

Swedish Indie Pop act The Sound Of Arrows hare next up for Mille treatment and as per-usual he walks a big spacey line between Electro-House and Dreamwave. Here he mixes up 8-bit sounds, huge 80’s lead lines and some crazy side-chaining!

The Golden Filter reMix O Children

Gloomy post-punk act O Children have had their single ‘Dead Disco Dancer’ masterfully reMixed by New York Disco heroes The Golden Filter.

Anything The Golden Filer touched seems to turn to …well, gold, and this reMix is no exception. A dark Disco dub tune that really kicks in around the four minute mark.

CHEW LiPS; new non-album track!

It’s that time again, for one of the greatest UK Electro acts around, CHEW LiPS, to kindly give away another free track to coincide with the last of their regular club nights.

This time there’s a twist though, while previous giveaways have been taster of what to expect on their painfully anticipated for coming album, this tune ‘Rising Tide’ won’t be featured on the release and the band have put it up online for a limited time only.

The music here has got an almost Yazoo flavour which works perfectly with Tig’s vocals.

Steed Lord; ‘Royal Ruffian’ reMix

Iceland’s crazy bassheads Steed Lord have dropped their own reMix of ‘Royal Ruffian’ taken from their album ‘Truth Serum’.

It’s a hell of a lot heavier than the original (now that the original was lightweight!), the lead synths and vocoders remain but the beats and bass hammer through the speakers.

Parisian mystery duo Acid Washed recently dropped their début EP ‘General Motors, Detroit, America’ and the title track is a crazy, random, acidic Disco track that is so way out there yet so brilliant at the same time. Love it when the beat kicks in!

7th December sees the release of the second single from datA’s fantastic album ‘Skywriter’.
