Meridian reMix Monarchy

monarchy

As more and more reMixes of Monarchy and Britt Love new single ‘You Don’t Want To Dance With Me’ it becomes harder to stand out from the pack. Let’s see if this official mix from Meridian does the job.

It’s actually a pretty straight-up dance mix, which is a good thing as there hasn’t been one yet. It drags the song into the big room for some peak of the night euphoric gold. There’s no surprises here, nothing new, but it has a job to do and does it well. Big sounds, filter sweeps, emotional piano, all present and working together like an oiled dancefloor machine.

Monarchy reMixed by Moonlight Matters

As the reMixes for Monarchy and Britt Love‘s new single, the reworked, ‘You Don’t Won’t To Dance With Me’, Moonlight Matters set the bar pretty high with his new mix.

Bringing in a slightly new style for him, MM drops a bouncy, squelch bassline and goes heavy on the vocal manipulation, but it’s the rock solid piano riff that drives this reMix at the forefront. The piano in combination with the vocals give the track a real big room feel.

Monarchy’s new video

Monarchy and  Britt Love‘s single version of ‘You Don’t Want To Dance With Me’ is now available for your viewing pleasure.

Petty unusual for Monarchy in that it focuses on them, the guys need new masks though. This version of the track is really growing on me.

‘You Don’t Want To Dance With Me’ is Monarchy’s new single. Rerecorded from the album version as a duet with Britt Love from Mini Viva.

It’s an odd choice of single, but once you get into it you see how inspired it is as a decision. Mid-tempo and quirky the track will show casual Monarchy listeners that there is more to them than the big, catchy, ElectroPop epics. ‘You Don’t Want To Dance With Me’ is all rolling breakbeats and powerful, ominous, synths that provide a moody soundscape for Britt and Ra to trade vocal accusations.

Monarchy’s ‘Maybe I’m Crazy’ video

The official video for Monarchy’s next single ‘Maybe I’m Crazy’ premiered today.

It’s strangely 80’s, not in it’s content or look or feel, but in it’s editing, effects. and photography. It’s also the most (non-comedy) Sci-Fi video they’ve done since The Phoenix Alive.

‘Maybe I’m Crazy’ is Monarchy’s next single. It’s taken from the amazing album ‘Around The Sun’, out now.

New Queen Of Hearts track, produced by Monarchy.

queenofhearts

If you keep an eye on Queen Of Hearts’ Twitter (which sounds a bit like stalking when you say it outloud?) you’ll know she recently tweeted about being in the studio with ElectroPop geniuses Monarchy. An exciting prospect I’m sure you’ll agree. Well, here’s the result.

I think vocally ‘Perfect Mistake’ is the most intimate performance we’ve heard from QoH so far, the subtleties in her vocals make the track feel more personal. It’s a pretty classic SynthPop tune, in it’s content and arrangement, but given a contemporary sheen by the Queen and Monarchy resulting in a perfect meeting of the retro and the new. And this is just a demo! I can see Queen Of hearts gathering momentum and things picking up the pace very soon. There are rumors TOTP is coming back, might be just in time!

Azari & III reMix Monarchy

monarchy

More reMixes of Monarchy’s forthcoming single, ‘Maybe I’m Crazy’ incoming, this time Azari & III’s, which I’ve been waiting for.

Azari & III have an amazing ability to make deep, dark, 90’s House influenced tunes that are also totally catchy and Poppy. On the reMix here, Azari & III have produced a full-on House monster reminiscent of sweaty, early 90’s, warehouse parties. Deep, electronic and slightly Acidic, this mix just makes me more eager to hear their forthcoming album on Modular.

Monarchy & Dreamtrak

Dreamtrak is on a roll, a string on awesome reMixes and production are marking him as a producer to keep an eye on.

Contributing a reMix to the next Monarchy single, Dreamtrak get’s to do what he does best. House up some ElectroPop and make it huge. His take on ‘Maybe I’m Crazy’ has all the right elements for epic ElectroPop, big sweeping synths, a euphoric breakdown, driving bass, but then the whole thing is topped with a burbling 303 line and a massive early 90’s House riff that is as brilliant as it is unexpected. Dreamtrak takes Monarchy to another dimension, via a few warehouse raves.

Monarchy’s ‘Around The Sun’ album

Monarchy’s highly anticipated album, now titled ‘Around The Sun’, finally (a year later) will see the light of day this month.

It’s hard to imagine that ‘Gold In The Fire’, Monarchy’s début, was released January last year swiftly followed by the jaw droopingly good ‘The Phoenix Alive’, a full length album was promised soon after and although teasers leaked out no album appeared. Yet, here we are, over twelve months later and less that a week away from being able to own a copy of Monarchy’s album.

So, to get you pumped, the duo have released two ElectroPop gems to wet your appetite. ‘Jealous Guy’ is a slick, mid-tempo, slice of SynthPop with an almost Pet Shop Boys-esque, dry, British, sense of humour. it;’s a dense track, multi-layer and impressive with a bit of a cinematic feel, musically. Monarchy’s forthcoming single will be ‘Maybe I’m Crazy’, which is definite single material. An rousing, sweeping example of electronic Pop perfection with an anthemic quality that’s hard to ignore.

Monarchy Vs. Jaymo & Andy George

Moda main-men Jaymo & Andy George are one of the many who have reMixes ElectroPop duo Monarchy’s latest single ‘I Won’t Let Go’.

Featuring on their ‘Moda Volume 1’ compilation it’s a totally new take on the song that shrugs off the ElectroPop in favour of dancefloor madness. Leaving snatches of the original amongst the big beats and mind-loosing bassline this is a track to get lost in on the dancefloor.
