New Ladytron track!

‘Ace Of Hz’ is the first brand new material from ElectroPop legends Ladytron in a while.

The track actually features on the soundtrack of Football game ‘FIFA ‘11’ from EA Games (and it’s not for the first time that Ladytron have been included in a FIFA game, ‘Runaway’ was part of the ‘FIFA ‘09’ soundtrack) and is a proper reminder of why the band’s forthcoming album is so eagerly awaited with a sound that is reminiscent of the early Ladytron albums mixed with the sophistication of songwriting from their later works.

Very cool track!

Friends Electric’s ‘Golden Blood’ video

Welsh Indie-ElectroPoppers Friends Electric new single ‘Golden Blood’ will be released at the end of November.

The video, as with the previous single ‘Wall Of Arms’, was directed by Laura Fry and is a really nice accompaniment to this epic sounding single by one of the UK most underrated bands.

The single is out 29th November. I’m looking forward to catching the guys live alongside Fenech-Soler and Substatic next week in Bristol!

Clock Opera Vs. Little Loud

We’re fans of both Clock Opera and Little Loud here at electronic rumors, so when this little gem dropped in the Inbox excitement followed.

It’s quite a killer tune too. ‘Once And For All’ will be Clock Opera’s next single for Kitsuné Music and Little Loud’s take on the track is a pulsing and shimmering synth workout. Laidback and feel good the sparking lead lines have a pretty euphoric effect.

Saharan Gazelle Boy

I must admit, I’d never heard of  Saharan Gazelle Boy before, apparently it’s a collaboration between Capybara’s Darin Seal and Sea Change. I’ve never heard of them either. Oh well.

I’m digging the music though, it’s nice and grungy and has an electronic post-punk vibe to it. An early 80’s Indie theme runs throughout but with enough electronics to keep it just the right side of SynthPop.

Check the video for their new single ‘Strange Teen Heart’.

And their previous record, ‘Halfhair Girl’, which is a little early New Order.

Detachments reMixed by T&A

We enthused about Detachments latest single ‘Holiday Romance’ and we’ve loves some of the reMixes that have come around so far.

Particularly likening this minimal mix by T&A which gives the track more of an electronic post-punk feel with bonus acid squelching and cowbell! Then, halfway though the track the bridge kicks in and the track turns into a really absorbing and listenable analog synth wig-out.

Aeroplane reMixes Gypsy And The Cat

We’ve enthused about Gypsy And The Cat a few times here on electronic rumors, they’ve just got this cool blissed out Indie-Electro groove going on and some excellent songwriting.

The now solo Vito Aeroplane has dropped an awesome mix of ‘The Piper’s Song’, adding a little of his trademark Electro Disco and a mindblowing 90’s Pop hook. If you don’t like this you must be dead inside!

Pacific! – Narcissus – The Album

Swedish ElectroPop eccentrics Pacific! are finally on the verge of dropping their second album, ‘Narcissus’. Originally conceived at the soundtrack to a ballet the record works amazingly well sans avant-garde dancers in frocks.

From it’s ominous harpsichord opening the album you still feel there is something a bit proggy, a bit conceptual, about the album but the music speaks for itself. Like Jean-Michel Jarre on bad (or good) acid this album is in part atmospheric and enveloping (and a little scary!) but also sweeping and electronic. Washes of Jarre mix with hints of Goldfrapp (on the vocal tracks). Like felloe Swedes The Knife there is something of the avant-garde here but similarly they have managed to cram the experimental and leftfield into Pop songs and get away with it making the edgy and unsettling elements to Pacific!’s music soon feel strangle comforting.

They have laid out the record really well to, spacing out properly structured upbeat tracks like ‘Narcissus’, ‘Unspoken’ and ‘King Of The Knight’ with their floaty instrumental works such as ‘Cupid’ and ‘Halfheart’ to give the feeling (even without aforementioned avant-garde dancers in frocks) of narrative.

‘Narcissus’ drops 11th October on Alan Braxe’s Vulture label.
