[Audio] Joe Goddard reMixes Tensnake and Jacques Lu Cont’s ‘Feel Of Love’

tensnake

German retro House producer Tensnake’s sublime début album, Glow, is currently holding at number two on our top albums of the year list, beating some severe competition, and shows no signs of being usurped in it’s runner up position. It’s an amazing record packed full of highlights, one of them being his collaboration with the legend Jacques Lu Cont and Jamie Lidell; Feel Of Love. The track is getting a full single release next month with some storming reMixes, one of which you can check out below, it’s a doozy!

Hot Chip and The 2 Bears’ Joe Goddard takes up the challenge of making one of this year’s soulful House classics his own; and does. This one is an eight minute epic that wastes none of it’s time. From the offset with track begins to build an intricate analog groove, deep beats layering with buzzing synths. Easing the original’s vocals into the tune, Goddard give you half the track’s length to settle into the vibe before launching into a massive, hands-in-the-air, synthesizer symphony that never drops the energy ball.

[Audio] Moon Boots reMixes Florrie’s ‘Little White Lies’

Florrie

Bristolian Xenomania drummer come Pop superstar Florrie has just released her latest single, Little White Lies, and amongst the plethora of reMix talent she has enlisted to rework the track is Disco showstopper Moon Boots who takes the track and gives it a tasty House makeover. We’ve had hints of this track singe late last year, mostly in the form of mix rips (Moon Boots himself played it during his Boiler Room set) but now the tune is out in the open.

Moon Boots used the lush, ethereal tone of Florrie’s voice to cast a nice haze over a punchy House track  Pulsating synth bass and starlight chimes play out cheekily over the track and Mr. Boots rolls Little White Lies over a relentless Chicago beat. Easy-going, yet an immense dancefloor tune, Moon boots delivers the goods with this one. Come the chorus and Florrie kicks into full sassy Pop mode as she croons over Moon Boots deep soundtrack. Irresistible.

[Audio] Pat Lok reMixes Sirma’s ‘Trigger’

Sirma

Canadian House producer Pat Lok whips up a sever warehouse vibe on his latest reMix. Taking on Trigger, the current single from New York songstress and multi-instrumentalist Sirma. The Turkish singer’s original is a beautiful and intricate wall of sounds, a wall which Lok knocks down and re-builds with an infectious groove.

Slightly more low key than some of his previous mixes, Lok concentrates on dancefloor essentials with this one. Serving up a pure hypnotic track comprising of deep bass, a nice line in organ riffs and a killer piano hook. this is the kind of track that you can stick on, close your eyes, and just see the strobe lights. Or maybe we’ve just got something wrong with our brain? Either way, Lok’s reMix of Trigger is a House-head’s dream.

[Audio] Blende reMixes Kraak & Smaak’s ‘Just Wanna’ Be Loved’

Joi Cardwell

London based Swede Blende has deftly delivered a brand new reMix. New Blende tracks are always something to get excited about, let’s not forget the man came first in our top tracks of 2013 with his storming Rikki, and each new tune draws us further into his world. His latest is a mix of the new single from House duo Kraak & Smaak; Just Wanna’ Be Loved, itself taken from their 2013 album Chrome Waves.

Creating a laid back Sci-Fi Disco mood, Blende peppers his track with the kind of retro-future synths that we’ve come to love from him. Easing New York Disco-House legend Joi Cardwell’s mellow diva vocals over the waves of funkified tones Blende keeps the beats tight, but layers cheeky purcussion. As the spikey leads rise toward the tracks finale you’re drawn deeper and deeper into the robo-Disco groove and by the time the five and a half minutes reach their end, you’ll be reaching for repeat.

[Audio] Les Sins’ ‘Bother’

Les Sins

Les Sins is the occasional dance music alter-ego of Chillwaver Toro Y Moi. After a sporadic string of singles, Chaz Bundick has just announced his forthcoming début album under the moniker. Michael is out later this year, a collection of tunes recorded over the past two years, and you can check out the first track from it, Bother, below.

Bother mixes up a lazy R&B vibe with some deep deep pounding House. Kinda’ like ADSR-era Simian Mobile Disco doing Deep House, it’s all stuttering samples and hypnotic electronic grooves. Abstract and mesmerising, rather than big and melodic, Bother is definitely a tune for when they are deep in the dance, slap this on and watch the dancefloor loose itself. As precursors to albums go, this is a seriously interesting taste of what’s to come.

[Audio] Keljet reMix Matvey Emerson’s ‘Over’

Matvey Emerson

Dutch Disco Duo Keljet are on the reMix again. This time they’ve leant their considerable talents to Russian newcomer Matvey Emerson, souping up his track Over into a massive floorfiller. The single is out now on Beatport and is just the latest in a long like of Keljet killing it.

Slightly more Big Room that we’re used to from Keljet. The normally funky duo got full-on here with big beats, big synths and big bass; the big rubbery bassline being the highlight of the track. The layers of rising, sweeping synths are enough to keep the euphoric vibe going to for the length of the tune while snatches of the original’s vocals lend  the track an anchor. Keljet reMixes are generally something to look forward to; even if this one is a big different it still rocks hard.

[Download] Friend Within reMixes BANKS’ ‘Beggin’ For Thread’

BANKS

Liverpudlian producer, and Disclosure collaborator, Friend Within has served up this wonderful House reMix of LA experimental R&B songstress BANKS ‘s latest single Beggin’ For Thread. Friend Within is currently making quite a name for himself, having turned in a mix for Annie Mac, a critically acclaimed EP in Hypercolour and releasing the track The Mechanism with Disclosure; all in such a short amount of time. This massive reMix is only going to add to his reputation.

Ensuring his House is both Deep and Chicago on this reMix, Friend Within takes BANKS’ woozy original straight to the dancefloor. There’s no mucking around on this one, it’s just straight up  909s, organ stabs and a booming bass. There’s even a little bit of an Acid vibe burbling away in the background. Friend Within utilises the vocals pretty perfectly, chiming in with the chorus in just the right spots. High energy goodness from an awesome original.

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs x Anna Lunoe

Late last week Orlando Higginbottom A.K.A. Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs A.K.A. T.E.E.D announced the launch of his new record label, Nice Age. Actually it’s more of an anything label, being an outlet for music, clothes, parties and whatever else T.E.E.D. wants to unleash. The première release is this intricate collaboration with LA based Aussie Anna Lunoe; Feels Like.

T.E.E.D.’s sonic pallet tends to travel from introspective and quaint SynthPop to absorbing Deep House, but here he incorporated a whole heap of Techno into the mix. Layering skippy Garage beats with crunchy Techno kicks T.E.E.D. and Lunoe build up a compelling festival groove that keeps things tight enough for the pair to roll out a floaty duet over the top. it’s a track that is both surprising and complex. Maybe it shouldn’t work, but it does, Really well.
