Crimea X’s ‘Varvara’

Sometimes the electronic rumors inbox turns up exactly what I am in the mood for at exactly the right time!

And that’s exactly what happened when this new track from Italian duo Crimea X came through. A soulful organic Disco tune with a Jean Michel-Jarre gone Funk feel. Otherwordly and cosmic yet so human, the track has a deep groove that underpins quite a cinematic feel. The track featured on their ‘Prospective’ album of least year and gets the reMix treatment on ‘Re:Prospective’, a collection of reworkings of the album that Crimea X are about to release. Bjørn Torske contributes his take on the track which takes it even further into the realms of live Synth Funk jam and deep space Dub.

MiGHty mOUse’s new EP

It’s all go at  MiGHty mOUse HQ! For a start May sees the release of their new EP, titled ‘The First EP’.

The first track to see the light of day from the EP is ‘Wheel Of Fortune’ which sees the usually introspective Disco kings go flat out DiscoPop to awesome effect. Having teamed up with a new singer the new team MiGHty mOUse produce an uplifting groove that’s worthy of a hit single.

Justin Faust ‘Sloppy Chic’ reMixes

Justin Faust had just dropped a selection of reMixes from his ‘Sloppy Chic’ EP of last year.

The standout for me is Super Mal’s heavy Nu-Disco workout of ‘Your Life’. What more can you want from a track like this? Killer bassline, rapid fire synths that shine like a beacon in the darkness all over the place. This reMix has got a groove that is just going to slay dancefloors worldwide. Italians Fare Soldi also turn in a killer rhythmic Italo/Disco mix of the title track. It’s a low-down dirty and grimy Disco track that gets inside your head!

Wow, a bit late with this one, about a month it be exact!

Nile Delta is the new project from Joel Dickson, formerly of the amazing Riot In Belgium and one half of Voltage. he released his début EP last month, a double A side ‘Channel’ and ‘All This’ (featuring Ben Browning from Cut Copy). Both tracks are spaced out DiscoPop, ‘Channel’ having more of a Filter-House vibe and this track, ‘All This’ being a Cosmic Disco/ElectroPop odyssey.

turn it up and let it take you away.

Rimer London’s ‘Love Dagger’

Rimer London (A.K.A Le Le’s Rimeroni Vumani) is back with more of his Synthesized Italo Disco, this time featuring the voice of Cata.Pirata.

‘Love Dagger’, Rimeroni’s forthcoming single, is probably the pinnacle so far of his deep analog take on Disco. With unmistakable Italo influences and a little bit if that funk underneath. UI gotta’ say, I really like the way Cata’s vocals are working with the space Disco sounds.

The video was directed by Sandder:

Slightly depressing video there. Still, the music has got me eager for Rimer’s long awaited full length record!

This is the new video for an old Nite Jewel track. ‘Am I Real?’ was released last summer on the Nu-Funk-tastic ‘Am I Real?’ EP last summer but has only just got itself a clip.

Directed by Jose Wolff and Delaney Bishop, the video is pretty out there…but then again, I suppose Nite jewel is too:

Also, check out Classixx’s brand new disco spaceout of the track:

Classixx & Karl Dixon

Here’s the smooth new track from La Disco duo Classixx.

Released for free by Green Label Sound, ‘Into The Valley’ feature the soulful vocals of Karl Dixon (last seen on Holy Ghost!’s Monarchy reMix) and, alongside that trademark Classixx piano, features a sweet horn section. In fact, the horns are really late 80’s/early 90’s house horns which sit really nicely with the Disco drums and analog bass. the who track works just as well as easy listening music as it does as a dancefloor shaker.

The Human League & Aeroplane!!!

Here it is, the reMix we’ve been waiting for. Nu-Disco pioneers Aeroplane’s reMix of the forthcoming The Human League single, ‘Never Let Me Go’.

The original version is a Robo-Pop stomper that sees The Human League sounding more contemporary than their pervious single ‘Night People’, but this reMix takes it to another level. All Vito Aeroplane’s trademark filtered Disco grooves are in there alongside Phil, Joanne and Susan. Massive chords in the chorus work expertly alongside 80’s riffs in the verses. All-in-all, worth the wait. We’ll probably be hammering this most of the summer!

♫ The Human League – Never Let Me Go (Aeroplane reMix)

The ‘Never Let Me Go’ single is released 21st March alongside the new album ‘Credo’ also on 21st March.
