Com Truise’s new EP

This week deep Electro Disco dude Com Truise released his new EP, ‘Fairlight’ on Ghostly International.

‘Polyhurt’ is taken from that EP, it’s a spaced-out, blissed-out jam loaded with analog synth Disco goodness and a smooth night time groove. This guy’s really leading the pack in the field of  synthesizer funk. With some epic playing that would make Jarre proud, a rolling bass, and some seriously cosmic lead lines this track is retro futuristic gold!

The ‘Fairlight’ EP is out now with Com’s début LP, ‘Galactic Melt’ following on 5th July.

MiGHty mOUse’s new single

This is the first single from the new improved MiGHty mOUse, as a band.

‘Between The Pavement And The Stars’ is a smooth upbeat DiscoPop (heavy on the Disco) track with a bit of an original Heaven 17 feel to it. With Natalie Lewis huge voice and the electronic funk (and mention of the word ‘pavement’) I can’t help but think of H17’s ‘Penthouse And Pavement’, not that MM’s new single sounds anything like it, it’s got a sweet sound of it’s own. I’m defiantly liking everything I’ve heard from the new ‘proper band’ MiGHty mOUse’s  so far, defiantly looking forward to their new EP in June.

There are reMixes of the track from the likes of Mario Basanov, Edwin Van Cleef, Blamma! Blamma!, Cosmonauts, Tronik Youth, Matt Van Schie and more to come.

Holy Ghost!’s ‘Wait And See’ video

Holy Ghost!’s new video for their single ‘Wait And See’ stars Misters Millhiser and Frankel senior. As in Holy Ghosts! Nick Millhiser and Alex Frankel’s respective fathers.

Directed by Ben Fries the video sees the Holy Ghost! elders living the NYC lifestyle, going clubbing, getting a band rehearsal down, chatting online with Classixx. I think Nick’s dad has pulled?

‘Wait And See’ is out now on DFA, it’s an awesome slice of NYC flavoured Indie-Disco.

Yuksek Vs. The Magician

The Magician is on a total roll recently. Killer reMix after Killer reMix. Maybe Aeroplane splitting up was a good thing after all?

Taking Yuksek’s forthcoming new single Stephen Fasano has transformed it into a bouncy, Moog heavy, Nu-Disco groover with some amazing 90’s piano and just the right amount of cowbell. Both The Magician and Vito’s new Aeroplane have done some amazing work this year and, after all, two act is better than one! We’ll also be very interested to hear the new Yuksek album, ‘Living On The Edge of Time’. We really enjoyed the last one, let’s see if he can do it again.

♫ Yuksek – On A Train (The Magician reMix)

The ‘On A Train’ EP is out 2nd May with a reMix from Gucci Vump as well.

Moonlight Matters’ reMix of Pacific!’s ‘Unspoken’

Pacific! new single, ‘Unspoken’ is an awesome song in it’s own right, a beautiful electronic narrative that features a haunting vocal performance from El Perro Del Mar.

But, sweet Disco messiah, Moonlight Matters long awaited reMix is a slap bassin’, synth funkin’’, riff soarin’ juggernaut. Moonlight Matters is Belgian Sebastiaan Vandevoorde, one part of Villa, and on this reMix he drops the spooky in favour of shit-loads of late 70’s Disco glam. Pounding into your should, it’s the slap bass that dominates this tune, the heartbeat that allows Moonlight Matters to create something truly epic. If this tune came on during the finale of some inspirational 70’s movie I would not be surprised in the least!

♫ Pacific! (Feat. El Perro Del Mar) – Unspoken (Moonlight Matters reMix)

“Unspoken” is out now on Alan Braxe’s Vulture Music. reMix back up from Santiago & Bushido, Moonlight Matters, Alex Gopher & Pierrick Devin and Anoraak

Tape Warm

Tape Warm describe them selves as “new school disco analog”, how cool is that?

This new Brazilian duo have just released their début single, ‘Silver Copy’ and it’s full of heavy synth bass and a solid analog groove. I gotta’ say, I have a real love for analog sounding instrumental electronic music, especially if it sounds recorded on tape too, it reminds me of the electronic music I grew up with and manages to sound synthesized and robotic yet warm and organic at the same time. Tape Warm totally fits the bill here and wrap it all up in a rad cosmic Disco package. This is what the future sounded like in the late 70’s, and it can still take you away now!

♫ Tape Warm – Silver Copy (Original Mix)

Check out their reMix of Anoraak’s ‘Crazy eyes’ too, they really give it the 70’s Disco vibe!

Moullinex & Xinobi

Moullinex & Xinobi thought “hey, let’s write a song’, 8 hours later they released it. It’s possible (though only conjecture on our part) that there may have been booze involved.

There’s no samples in ‘X Marks The Spot’, just Moullinex & Xinobi in the studio, singing and playing. It’s actually pretty funky, if a little scary. Like the Disco track that plays on repeat in your nightmares. It’s got to be said though, there is some fantastic 70’s lead synth work in the track, and it is wicked fun.
