[Video] OMD’s ‘Metroland’

OMD Metroland Official Video YouTube

We previewed Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark’s Kraftwerky new single, Metroland, last month, now here’s the brand new video for the track.

It’s a beautifully animated clip, possibly making a point about urban advancement, or progress, or something. Looks nice though.

OMD’s Metroland is released  25th March 25, witht he album following on 9th April.

[Video] Foxes’ ‘Unknown’

Foxes The Unknown New Demo 2013 YouTube

This is the latest, well…nothing, from London singer/songwriter Foxes. It’s a demo from her forthcoming début album. It’s not a new single, the video isn’t even an actual video. But it’s all pretty amazing.

The footage was all shot on Foxes’ tour of the UK, US and Europe, and is basically her and her band mucking about to one of the best ElectroPop tracks of the year. really. This is like 2007 good.

Foxes début album is due out this year.

Dragonette Run Run Run Official Video YouTube

Here’s the video for rowdy Canadian Indie-ElectroPoppers Dragonette’s new single Run Run Run. It;s their latest album’s opener and sets the record up in epic style.

The clip is directed by Drew Lightfoot, and it’s nice to see Dragonette making proper videos again, although not for those that get travel sick.

Dragonette’s Run Run Run taken from the album Bodyparts, out now.

[Video] Westbam & Richard Butler of The Psychedelic Furs’ ‘You Need The Drugs’

Westbam feat. Richard Butler You Need The Drugs YouTube

This is the video for German techno legend Westbam’s new single. featuring the vocals of Richard Butler of The Psychedelic Furs fame. You Need The Drugs is a moody and beautiful electronic soundscape, driven by metronome military beats, toped with Butler’s impassioned lament.

The video is actually part of a documentary being but together by Joerg Hoppe. Titled B-Movie, the film will portray West Berlin in the 80s using found footage from the period and our friend Mark Reeder’s point-of-view, that of a Brit living in cold war Berlin.

You Need The Drugs is taken from Westbam’s forthoming new album God’s Road, with features more collaboration with the likes of New Order’s Bernard Sumner, Hugh Cornwell of The Stranglers and Iggy Pop.

[Video] Goin’ Old School: Thomas Dolby, Blancmange & Man 2 Man Meets Man Parrish

Goin’ Old School isn’t a trip down music memory lane, it’s a mugging in the dark alleyway of nostalgia:

We kick off this week with the craziness that is Thomas Dolby’s 1984 Hyperactive!.

And from 1982 Blancmange’s Living On The Ceiling.

finally some HiNRG in the form of Man 2 Man Meets Man Parrish, the genius, with Male Stripper from 1987.

[Video] Little Jinder’s ‘Whatever 4ever’

Stockholm’s unsung ElectroPop/Bass queen Little Jinder’s new single Whatever 4ever is a more sweetly rebellious SynthPop affair than her previous, more Bass heavy offerings, and show a maturing of her sound, but thankfully not her attitude.

Directed by Anders Abrahamsson, the clip is basically Josefine and her mates getting wasted while a dude with a ginger beard mimes the song. I think that just about covers it.

Little Jinder’s Whatever 4ever is released 13th March.

[Video] Compuphonic’s ‘Sunset’

We featured Compuphonic’s Marques Toliver featuring Sunset and it’s reMixes early last month it’s a really nice tune and a solid reMix package. The track’s now got itself the cutest video too.

Lisbon based film producers Salon Alpin have put together a painstakingly animated clip in which bookmarks can have fun too. We can’t help but wonder why Get Physical Music couldn’t have held off the release of the EP a month and used this beautiful video in the Sunset’s proper promotion, rather than unleashing it now, weeks after, which makes it feel a little like an afterthought. Which is a bit sad. Watch and enjoy though.

Compuphonic’s Sunset reMixes are out now..

[Video] AlunaGeorge’s Attracting Flies’

It’s quite possible that Attracting Flies is the best thing London based EelctroPop/R&B duo AlunaGeorge have released singe Analyser. Catchy and fun, even the beats stick in your mind. It’s about time the duo got a decent, big budget, video. their music seems to call out for lavish and interesting visuals. Well, that’s been delivered with the video for Attracting Flies.

The new clip is directed by Emil Nava, and runs the gauntlet of fairy tales, giving each one a modern, inner-city, spin. For such a frivolous concept, the clip is really nicely, and moodily, shot. See if you can name each one.

Attracting Flies is released 10th March and is taken from AlunaGeorge’s forthcoming début album, titled Body Music. Released on 1st July.

[Video] Patchy’s ‘Picnic’

Here’s the début video from new London artist Patchy. It’s called Picnic and is a marvellously fun slice of cheeky ElectroPop. It’s got everything that intrigues us about a track, Fizzing Electro beats, synthetic bass, sparkling leads and Patchy’s slightly quirky vocals (and, as you, know we have a long history of loving quirky vocals!).

Check out the track via the video, which is various bits of Undergrounds (although not sure where) and Patchy mucking about in the studio. Which makes for a nice introduction to her and her music.

Check out more from Patchy on SoundCloud.

Picnic is out now, and is taken from Patchy’s début album, Illuminations, released 3rd June on Manual Music.
