Bastille

Bastille

Bastille are a duo from LA who are making a bit of a name for themselves pumping out some good times Nu-Disco party jams.

They’ve just dropped their ‘Bumpin’’ EP, two years in the making, for free containing three tracks of summer fun to loose yourself in. If you like your basslines funky and your Disco with chopped-up horn sections then you’re gonna’ love ‘Bumpin’’. A pure French Disco House juggernaut, the horn riff alone is worth the price of admission but couple that with a killer bassline and you have Disco gold! ‘Wide Open’ slides the mood over into more of a Funk state of mind bringing severe guitar licks to the table and a flue solo that blows the top off the tune. All of the ‘Bumpin’’ EP is well worth your attention if you don’t hate fun.

Mix Chopin’s ‘Move Your Body’

mixchoppin

Mix Chopin is knocking out of the park recently. Yesterday he dropped another, absolutely amazing, slice of fresh Nu-Disco.

The Torontonian producer’s ‘Move Your Body’ is straight up slammin’. Funk laden digital slap bass lines fire off left and right, changing and switching as the groove flies from deep Filter to French Touch to in-your-face Elector Disco. If their was one Mix Chopin track that really cements his reputation as a name bound for greatness it’s this tune. There is no way you can’t dance to this, it speaks to your body before your mind gets a look in. Nu-Disco at it’s very best.

Alfa Vs. Flashlights

flashlights

The finale of today’s Alfa trilogy is his brand new reMix of fellow Binary artists Flashlights’ ‘Holidays’.

Taking the track from their EP, ‘Hidden behind Trees’, Alfa creates something truly epic. A head on collision between deep synth-Funk and wailing 80’s guitar, Alfa’s production skills are pushed into overdrive as a stream of different elements are effortlessly merged into an ass-shaking whole. The Indie-Electro vocals sound as if they’ve always been emoting over bouncy LA funk,  retro synth stabs and the kind of axe work that inspires greatness,

Alfa Vs. Van Go Lion

Van-Go-Lion

Here is where I make a joke about Alfa tracks being like busses, you wait and wait and wait then three come along at one.

This time he’s turned his attention to Portland’s finest, Van Go Lion’s ‘Glow’  and he’s getting even more funky. The Moog Funk lead line running throughout the track forms a solid bedrock which grounds the emotionally resonate song. A complex track, meticulously produced, Alfa has matched the tone of the track, just moved it to a different music location. Whereas the original was sweet SynthPop, Alfa gives it a groove and some street cred.

Van Go Lion’s singles ‘Body Moves’ and ‘We Don’t Miss A Beat’ are out now.

Alfa Vs. Little Boots

little-boots

The first of our Alfa triple-threat today come in the form of an older track, but one that gives us an excuse to post some Little Boots, and it’s been a while.

Alfa’s take on ‘Earthquake’ bring a whole new bassline and lead to the proceedings. Layering Ms. Hesketh’s bubbly Pop with a coating of smooth LA Electro Funk shows the song in a whole new light. Less urgent than the original, Alfa takes his time to build a tune that doesn’t have a care in the world. Sink into the lush synth lines.

beaumont reMixes Rüfüs

rufus

beaumont takes time out from his inventing a new genre of slowed down, laid back Nu-Disco to return to his Dreamwave/Nu-Disco roots with his new reMix of Rüfüs’ ‘We Left’.

Proving without a shadow of a doubt that he still has the skills to rock the Disco, this reMix is a full-on solid electronic epic with it’s feet on the dancefloor and it’s head in the clouds. It’s got all the right 80’s cues, and all the right Nu-Disco cues, in all the right places. beaumont’s sweeping phased synths work particularly well with the track’s vocals. The reMix features on On The Fruit’s release of ‘We Left’, as a single, alongside reMixes from Ride The Universe and SymbolOne .

MiGHty mOUse’s ‘Between The Pavement And The Stars’ drops today

mighty mouse

Today sees the release of MiGHty mOUse’s awesome summer sure-to-be-a-hit single, ‘Between The Pavement And The Stars’.

I’m not going to go on too much about the track, we have already raved about it, and the Edwin Van Cleef mix enough already, suffice to say it’s a catchy, funky slice of vocal DiscoPop that is sure to blow up over summer. Now the single is out you can listen to the whole reMix package on SoundCloud. Although I don’t think any of them top the original, followed by the EvC mix, there are some choice cuts on the single. Firstly MiGHty mOUse’s own ‘Funkatronic Restoration’ is an electric piano lead funker with some organ and a large horn section that mixes up their electronic Disco with a Motown flavour. Mario Basanov takes the track in a deep, bass heavy direction with his Proggy reMix and Greek SynthPop artist Tareq turns in a classic Synth track with a nice groove to it that uses the vocals to epic effect. The whole collection is pretty top quality and comes highly recommended.

Rüfüs Vs. SymbolOne

The On the Fruit Records release of Australian Indie-Electro band Rüfüs’s ‘We Left’ reMix EP s almost upon us!

We’ve already heard the Ride The Universe reMix and beaumont’s reMix of ‘Paris Collides’ so lets check out SymbolOne’s take on the title track. It’s an epic and bombastic four and a half minutes, loaded with majestic strings and House piano over an almost Italo bassline and some nice Tropical percussion. SymbolOne have done a stunning job on the arrangement, the finale and strings solo will push you over the edge.

Cyndi Seui looses control

Cyndi Seui

Do you like your synths screaming, 80’s, and loaded with Funk? Of course you do!

Then you should check out the new track from Thai ElectroPop producer Cesar B. Be Guzman A.K.A. Cyndi Seui. Leaning heavily on the French Touch side of things, Cesar rocks the retro keys and vocoder with a Disco power reminiscent of ‘Discovery’ era Daft Punk. ‘Loose Control’ has all the elements you want in a weekend Nu-Disco tune to keep you dancing, in fact the tune was written exclusively for the opening of Bangkok Club DEMO.

♫ Cyndi Seui – Loose Control

‘Loose Control’ is available as part of a reMix series on Seui’s own Kitsch Cat Records alongside the likes of Justin Faust, Electric Youth and Edwin Van Cleef.
