Silenx reMixes R3set

Earlier this year R3set released his retro ElectroPop Disco bomb of an EP, ‘Runaway’, the lead track. particularly, being slick as hell soulful electronic goodness. Not it falls to on of our favourite producers, Silenx, to get us reacquainted with the track.

Silenx version drags the track into epic SynthWave territory with a fidgeting bassline, and a solid Italo beat providing grounding for some synth work that’s is as soulful as the originals vocals. this is just one more peice of genius from the man Silenx.

We featured Collins’ contribution Fear Of Tigers’ ‘Pippi Longstrump’ reMix competition a while back as one of our picks of entries, his melodic take on retro Electro immediately caught out ear.

Now the Irish resident of Brazil has sent on over his most recent track. ‘Loverboy’ kicks off with a slick ‘80’s bassline and classic SynthPop melody before sliding into a particularly vintage sounding SynthWave tune. It’s at this point that the track takes you completely by surprise by morphine into a vocoded Electro Boogie jam. ‘Loverboy’ is a robotic love song for Breakers and Italo heads alike and marks Collins as one to keep an eye on.

New tunes from Kid Machine

Manchester’s Kid Machine is rapidly charging from being a SynthWave newcomer to being a UK Italo force to be reckoned with.

Getting major support recently from the likes of Italo mega-authority Flemming Dalum, Kid’s tracks are veering more and more into the late night Italo dancefloor and ‘80’s Sci-Fi TV theme territory as he hones his skills with robotic beats and dark futuristic atmospheres. Early next month sees the release of his ‘Dragon’ single on renowned Italo label Relux Rimini. Already getting some impressive mixtape support, ‘Dragon’ is pretty eagerly awaited round these parts. Until the single drops tide yourself over with this choice selection from Kid Machine’s recent prolific output. He truly is one of UK electronic music’s rising starts.

AXXE’s ‘Sweet Stuff’

Jet setting DiscoPop act AXXE’s ‘Sweet Stuff’ has been knocking around for a while now, as has some of the reMixes, so On The Fruit Records (in their firsts of two big releases this week) have made the smart decision to package them all up in one place, alongside some corking new versions. Won’t you join me for a peek inside?

The original version of the tracks is pure Dance-Pop excellence, with just the right balance between retro sounds and modern dancefloors. Doug’s slick beats and ear for hooks and Stina husky, powerful vocals work together perfectly for some big, but edge, ElectroPop fun. It’s hard to even start on the reMixes with out getting Ride The Universe’s version out the way, we’ve mentioned it before, suffice to say the combination of musicianship, studio skill skill and DJ’s ear amongst the four Riders makes up the perfect production team. If you were in the HR department of a Dreamwave/Nu-Disco corporation then these four skill sets would be the one your would be trying to fill. Dreamtrak is a man with his finger in a lot of ElectroPop pies right now, and his reMix here displays why, with an almost New Order-esque slice of retro SynthPop sprinkled with a hint of Disco. Neon Workout head straight for the dancefloor with their take on the track with a bit of Italo, a bit of EBM and a bit of Disco all finding their way into this rapid-fire mix.

He’s sad because his record label saw fit to deem this dub version of Cosmonauts reMix of his forthcoming single ‘The Right Thing’ not ‘on the single ‘material. We’d be sad too, although the vocal version of the mix will be on the single, this dub is an awesome instrumental Disco groove with an Italo bassline..

Glass Candy’s ‘Warm In The Winter’ video

Today neo-Italo ElectroPop act Glass Candy unveiled the video for ‘Warm In The Winter’, which we’ve been waiting for a while.

Directed by Alberto Rossini, the videos vintage, grainy footage of GC on the west coast this summer forces a new nostalgia to go along with the incredibly catchy track.
