Fear Of Tigers album drops!

The time is upon us, Ben Berry A.K.A. Fear Of Tigers has dropped his début album and as we previously mentioned, it’s free!

Words fail to describe how good this album is, it’s really a upbeat and poppy mixture of Electro-House, Nu-Disco, Dreamwave and SynthPop.

I’ll let the music speak for itself:

♫ Fear Of Tigers – Cossus Snufsigalonica (zShare) (MediaFire)

♫ Fear Of Tigers – Friday Night At Geek Club (zShare) (MediaFire)

I was also happily surprised to find a version of ‘Anomaly (Calling Your Name)’, a trance classic originally by Libra Presents Taylor (Feat. Jan Johnston) (A.K.A. BT), which took me back, FoT has beautifully updated it:

♫ Fear Of Tigers – Calling Your Name (zShare) (MediaFire)

I am utterly gobsmacked that FoT have given us, for free, and album of insanely better quality than most paid-for releases around, let’s hope some record label drives a truck full of money up to his house!

La Roux Vs. The Subs

The Subs have had a good couple of years, with the release of their first album ‘Subculture’ on Lektroluv and a host of 12”’s and remixes.

They round off this year with a reMix of one of my favourite racks from La Roux’s self-titled début, ‘Colourless Colour’. They completely change the vibe of the track, making it more frantic which adds an urgency to Elly’s vocals

♫ La Roux – Colourless Colour (The Subs’ Popup Mix) (zShare) (MediaFire)

it will be interesting to see if ‘colourless Colour’ will be the next single, after the re-release of ‘Quicksand’.

Monsieur Adi

Despite the name Monsieur Adi is in fact Italian, not French. Which is surprising as there are more than a few nods to Daft Punk and Justice going on in his music.

Adi releases his début EP, ‘We Are The Romans’ (that’ll be the Italian reference then!) soon and as a teaser we can give you a listen to the title track. as we said, there is quite a strong Ed Banger influence here with distorted rhythms and samples and big majestic chords but with something of his own uniqueness about it.

♫ Monsieur Adi – We Are The Romans (Rough Mix) (zShare) (MediaFire)

With a few reMixes already under his belt Monsieur Adi is a name you will probably hear more of in the coming months.

Friends Electric reMix Ellie Goulding

This reMix of Ellie Goulding’s ‘Under The Sheets’ is actually a couple of months old but i felt like sharing. Cardiff newcomers Friends Electric are already causing waves and if this mix is anything to go by they have a bright future ahead of them. This is a solid reMix, a bass heavy floor filler!

♫ Ellie Goulding – Under The Sheets (Friends Electric reMix) (zShare) (MediaFire)

Have they added backing vocals? Nice!

‘Under The Sheets’ is out now.

Fan Death chilled out by Ghost Hunter

I love ‘Reunited’, it’s one of my most played tracks this month, i seriously can’t wait for Fan Death’s ‘A Coin In The Well’ EP that the track is taken from.

To tide us over, have a listen to this reMix of ‘reunited’ by Sheffield based Electronica artist Ghost Hunter. Dragging Fan Death into strange new places, Ghost Hunter morphs Fan Death’s moody disco into moody electronic soundscapes. Nice use of the lead line!

‘A Coin In The Well’ is due out January 4th 2010 (yes, again, i will inform you that this is my birthday!!!):

Beaumont; new track

A man like Beaumont has dropped his latest offering into the electronic rumors inbox, we always look forward to Andy’s tunes here.

‘Surface Mission’ is a really intricate, chilled Electro tune with some sweet bit-crunched and distorted sounds which build up to those Disco synth strings.

Give it a listen!

Go show Andy some of your hard earned MySpace love!

Marsheaux

Greece’s undisputed queens of SynthPop, Marsheaux, have just got back from promoting their third album ‘Lumineux Noir’ here in the UK.

Released in September ‘Lumineux Noir’ possible the highest point in the Modern SynthPop right now. The clean pop production of the album just highlights the girls modern take on a retro sound, like old songs played on new instruments.

We previously raved about the track ‘Breakthrough’ when it first saw the light of day, but if you’re still not convinced check out another couple of tracks from the record:

♫ Marsheaux – Summer (zShare) (MediaFire)

…and now go buy! ‘Lumineux Noir’ is released by Undo Records.

New PNAU reMix

Old track, still a class tune though. PNAU’s ‘Embrace’, with Pip Brown on vocals, has been given a 2009 soup up by Swede Fredrick Carlsson.

Still just as epic, still gives you goosebumps, just with added pump!

♫ PNAU (Feat. Ladyhawke) – Embrace (Fredrick Carlsson Epic reMix) (zShare) (MediaFire)

‘embrace’ was from PNAU’s 2008 self-titled album.

Penguin Prison reMixed by Monarchy

Neon Gold certainly live up to their name, time and time again they churn out top act after top act.

Last month NG’s next hot artist Penguin Prison released his début single ‘Animal Aninal/A Funny Thing’, which generated a lot of hype with it’s bubbly ElectroPop catchiness.

Here we have a reMix of ‘A Funny Thing’ by London Indie-Synthsters Monarchy who make the track just that little bit deeper.

♫ Penguin Prison – A Funny Thing (Monarchy reMix) (zShare) (MediaFire)

Penguin Prison have also released into the wild an instrumental of the tune.
