Calvin Harris reMixes Passion Pit

Passion Pit’s brilliant upcoming single ‘The Reeling has been given the reMix treatment by Calvin Harris.

Whilst, personally, I don’t think it’s quite as good as the original, it does provide a sweet dancefoor version with some crazy slap bass action.

The more you listen to it the more it grown on you, if you don’t find yourself grooving a little to this you must be dead inside.

Old school ElectroClash (if there can be such a thing?) nightclub legend Spencer Product explodes from the New York scene once more with a new release on Coco Machette.

The Original Mix of ‘We Bite!’ is pretty standard ElectrocClash fare, I was always a little suspicious of ElectroClash, but there are some excellent reMixes from current BlogHouse darlings Designer Drugs and Tronik Youth the former putting the groove back into the song and the latter creating a robotic disco epic.

Here La Roux are taken on by London House Award magnet Wookie who gives us a odd, but compelling, tom-tom-tastic reMix.

Ah Pip, when are we getting some new material? Well, in the absence of a new Ladyhawke record it’s always nice when new reMixes come your way.

Here we have another reMix of ‘Back Of The Van’. This time Sydney producer Beaumont cooks up a delicious 80’s treat with some fantastic gated synths and piano bridge.

Little Boots ‘New in Town’ video

Well, Little Boots is finally due a real life, honest, physical single, ‘New In Town’, on a major label and all the trappings that go along with it.

So here’s the video, shot in LA (as LA is where the song was written during Dead Disco’s final recording sessions).

Fan Death – Goodbye Horses

Fan Death have dropped some more dark quirky SynthPop by way of a cover of Q Lazarus’ ‘Goodbye Horses’, it’s actually better than the original!

Interestingly (or maybe not…), as well as having been covered also by SynthPop/EBM project Psyche, Q Lazarus (the band, not the singer) featured Mark Barrett, one-time member of London Electro-Industrial group Inertia. Well…what do you say to that fact fans?

So many good club tunes and reMixes surface each week we can’t (and wouldn’t) cover them all, so this is a round up of some of the best from the week that we didn’t have time to dedicate individual posts to…

Kicking off this week’s Bangers A1 Bassline goes dubstep crazy with Little Boots’ new single and we have new tracks from Mustard Pimp and Etienne De Crécy. Das Pop get a slamming reword from Stockholm Syndrome and team Valerie give us some cool retro Electro from Le Matos. The fantastically named Joey2Tits takes on Yeah Yeah Yeahs and we wrap up with two reMixes from DJ Loveboat, of Amanda Blank and the wonderful Ladyhawke.
