Alfa drops new tracks

Binary floorfiller Alfa has dropped three new audio bombs this week, so get ready for some serious synthesizer fallout.

First up is a original track, ‘Sky Patrol’. A pumping Nu-Disco jam with the dancefloor energy turned up to 11. Vocoded vocals are sent through a mangel and spat out the other side over frantic arpeggios…I defy you not to move to this!

The man has also let loose a couple of new official reMixes he’s put together. His reMix for ODahl’s ‘Dance Mama’ show his more chilled Dreamwave (more Binary!) side and the FM slap bass on his mix of ‘Givin’ It Up’ by Vim Cortez is something you’ve got to hear for yourself!

While other Binary artists have been getting some fantastic coverage lately it’s defiantly time for Alfa to step into the limelight!

ODahl’s début EP

Out this week is the debut EP from Swede producer ODahl.

Probably best know for his reMixes of Tesla Boy, Cut Copy and Empire Of The Sun, ODahl busts out three original cuts on the self titled EP including ‘Dance Mama’ a dreamy, ever so slightly glitchy, summer Disco track. Pure party stuff. The track ‘Hello Hello’ appears both in it’s original from and with a reMix treatment from the awesome Diamond Cut, who turn in a rolling, arpeggio driven, Dreamwave version with some sweet big 80’s chords.

ODahl’s EP is out this week on Velcro City Records and features more reMixes from Alfa and Joman.

NightWaves’ Fascination

NightWaves

Coming from the LA based stable, BinaryNightWaves (A.K.A. Kyle Petersen and Josh Legg) owe just as much to pure SynthPop as they do to heavy 80’s influenced Electro-House.

Heavily emotive vocals with an early Depeche Mode style isn’t always the first thing you expect from a band associated with the current crop of Disco-House (or what they are calling Dreamwave) acts, you normally expect something lighter, floatier, but it works so well and lends NightWaves an extra slice of power in their music.

The upcoming single ‘Fascination’ is original taken from the fantastic Binary compilation ‘LA Lights’ and has been given the reMix treatment by a number of artists in the last few months. amongst them Sweden’s ODahl turn the Disco-House up to 11 while We Plants Are Happy Plants make the track more of an deep epic highlighting the feeling in the vocals. Fellow Binary crew Keenhouse’s mix is probably my favourite version (other than the original!) with pure electro beats and an almost poppy synth riff.
