[Audio] Nocturnal Sunshine’s ‘Believe’

Nocturnal Sunshine

Here we have our second teaser of what to expect from the forthcoming début album from Maya Jane Coles dubby alter-ego; Nocturnal Sunshine. Single number tow is called Believe and features vocal work from Chelou, who is described as an ‘elusive newcomer’. The album, self-titled, is due out toward the end of this month.

Believe is more of the ominous fantasy Dub we’ve come to expect from Maya’s Nocturnal Sunshine work. Bass heavy and loaded with heavy tones, the track draws you into it’s Stygian depths with undulating rhythms and a pairing of Maya’s trademark haunting snyths with a lead line that cuts through the mix. Chelou’s vocals drift across the track like smoke; husky, brooding and softly spoken, which fits the mood of the track perfectly. We’re quite looking forward to the long player here.

[Audio] Disclosure’s ‘Bang That’

Disclosure

It’s not from their forthcoming (although a way off) sophomore album, and according to the brothers, who dropped it off with Annie Mac this past Friday, not a new single either. It’s just a new tune from Disclosure; because why not? It’s a tune that’s been kicking around Disclosure’s DJ sets for a while now and the guys (easily one of our favourite live acts of the past few years) have decided to unleash it in time for summer. It’s called Bang That, and with such a title you kinda’ know what you’re in for.

Disclosure’s first new track in two years (as-in just them) is a pulsating and pumping warehouse tune. A bass heavy Rave inspired slice of deep club music. Sub heavy, this one is all about the intoxicating bass and a rolling sample from 313 Bass Mechanics’ Pass Out. Guaranteed to please all the bass heads out there and dispel any fears that Disclosure’s success had made them forget where they came from.

[Audio] Syron’s ‘All I Need’

Syron

HousePop princess, and frequent collaborator with the likes of Tensnake and Rudimental, Syron is back with her latest single. Now signed to London based Fame Music she’s unleashing All I Need, a tune she initially wrote in LA but brought back to the London to give it a UK feel. For All I Need she enlisted the help of Rice & Peas on production duties and has delivered a more mature sound. Give it a listen.

Rocking a Garage groove with an early 90s vibe, All I Need delivers a more mature and confident sound from Syron. Musically walking the line between Garagey R&B and UK Deep House the track pleases on both counts while Syron serves up a rich Pop tune as a compliment. With warbling synths and big builds All I Need would work just as well on the dancefloor as on the radio.

julio-bashmore

Bristolian production heavyweight Julio Bashmore is finally gearing up for the release of his début artist album. Announced last week the LP, called Knockin’ Boots, is due to be released in July and will feature recent smashes Simple Love, Rhythm Of Auld and Kong alongside a host of new material. Check out the new single from the forthcoming album. This is Holding On.

Bashmore explored his Disco side on Holding On. Mixing a little French Touch and Nu-Disco into his House sound. Sam Dew’s understated and soulful vocals glide like silk over a filtered, funky loop that undulates until it’s almost hypnotic. With cheeky little dips and  nice transitions between it’s funky, sample based bars, Julio keeps things compelling throughout. A very nice teaser for the album indeed.

[Audio] Lamet’s ‘Vibes’

lamet

Lamet is one of the most interesting producers coming out of Russia right now; and that’s saying something as there is a ton of Russian talent emerging in the past few years. Grabbing our attention with his Italo and Disco, Lamet has been on our radar since 2012, particularly with the Moscow based producer’s True Stories EP a couple of years ago. His latest one is a smooth neo-Deep House tune called Vibes. Check it out.

Vibes is a spaced out tune that blurs the line between Deep House, Tech House, Nu-Disco and Progressive House. Riding on a woody robotic bassline, bringing the Deep groove, the track shows off an array of Techy riffs, Disco licks and a warm and inviting piano hook. It’s nice and nostalgic while still sounding fresh and it’s loaded with a few interesting little bridges. Top stuff.
