Aeroplane reMixes Gypsy And The Cat

We’ve enthused about Gypsy And The Cat a few times here on electronic rumors, they’ve just got this cool blissed out Indie-Electro groove going on and some excellent songwriting.

The now solo Vito Aeroplane has dropped an awesome mix of ‘The Piper’s Song’, adding a little of his trademark Electro Disco and a mindblowing 90’s Pop hook. If you don’t like this you must be dead inside!

La Roux’s US Version of ‘In For The Kill’

Do you remember when ‘Quicksand’ first came out on Kitsuné and La Roux was doing stints at The Notting Hill Arts Club? Exciting times. I loved that summer, musically. It was all about girls beginning with ‘L’ and a SynthPop comeback that wasn’t about parodying the past but making something new. That was nearly 2 years ago!!!

Anyway, the Us are finally getting a release of their own of ‘In For The Kill’ along with a brand new video, it’s pretty slick but I don’t know what was wrong with the old video. I liked it’s neon retro-future car chase!

‘In For The Kill’ had been out for years, but the new release will probably have that Danger reMix on it, reason enough to but it again!

Wing Commander

Wing Commander is not just an awesome band name! Oh no, it’s two dudes making some pretty addictive chilled, glitchy vocal electronica.

Think an early Warp vibe with an almost The Postal Service-esq vocal delivery, it’s intricate and absorbing. Their début EP, ‘From 93 Onwards’ is a meticulously crafted journey in sound, taking in, not only, the dreamlike, emotive, electronica of the title track and ‘Talk And Talk And Talk’ but also ‘Polar’, which is Wing Commanders successful foray into traditional dance structures (which works as a dark electro track) and the Dubby Rap/Folk crossover of ‘Glimmer’.

The guys are currently working on new material and some big name reMixes and we’ll defiantly be looking forward to their new material.

Uffie’s ‘Difficult’ video

I don’t care what the internet says! We still have love for Uffie.

I don’t understand, though, why it takes he so long to do thing, why the album took so long and completely missed taking advantage of all her hype.

Oh well, here is the video for her new single ‘Difficult’, one of my favourite tracks off the album and it’s the best video she’s made to date, easily!

The ‘Difficult’ single is released 18th October.

LectroLips

LectroLips are British duo Leo and Ant who revel in their love of ‘80’s synthesizer music.

It’s not all ElectroPop though, their début EP, ‘Exempt From Classification’s, opening track shows a massive nod to ‘80’s electronic funk and sets their EP up for a quite diverse journey through retro electronic Pop. ‘This Recorded Sound’ is a boarderline Modern SynthPop track but with more funk going on and and injection of ‘90’s dance production and ‘Ordinary Conversation’ is pure dancefloor slickness, throw that on in a club and even the most adamant wall sticker is gonna’ have to bust out his moves.

LectroLips – This Record Sound

LectroLips – Ordinary Conversation

All-in-all, LectroLips EP is a confident meeting of ElectroPop, Pop and Electro-Funk. The duo defiantly have a clear musical vision, unapologetically Pop and unapologetically synth funk and we here can’t wait to hear more.

Hot Chip, Bernard Sumner & Hot City

Hot Chip and New Order’s Bernard Sumner have teamed up, along with Hot City, to release a track for Converse’s collaborative series of tracks.

The track itself is an awesome 90’s House track, just listen to that piano and the 909 snares! When Bernard’s vocals kick it is it so distinctively him, kinda’ like a 90’s New Order reMix cut up with a Hot Chip track.

Anyway, just listen:

The Good Natured’s ‘Be My Animal’ single

We’ve already seen the video for, ‘Prisoner’ the B-side of The Good Natured new single, now it’s A-side time!

The lead track, ‘Be My Animal’ is powerful track, almost Industrial in places and an impressive and confident follow up to ‘You Body Is A Machine’. Check the video full of nervous energy.

Also on the single will be a cover of The Wombats recent track ‘Tokyo (Vampires And Wolves)’ which Sarah McIntosh reworks into a haunting aria.

Fenech-Soler & Hervé, Part 2

Deep deep down. That’s where  Hervé’s gone with his second reMix of Fenech-Soler latest single, ‘Lies’

Kinda’ like a dub version of his ‘Solar Flare reMix’ of the same song. Less vocals and more attention on the brooding bassline make this ‘Eclipse’ reMix a serious night-time epic.

Gemini Club Vs. Hey Champ! FIGHT!!!

It’s a meeting of minds in the heart of Chicago. Gemini Club and Hey Champ! should, by now, be well known to readers of electronic rumors and I think, generally, they’ve done the world a favour and unleashed a mighty soundclash on us!

Gemini Club’s recent single ‘Ghost’ gets the Hey Champ! treatment and winds up a chilled Nu-Disco jam that just slides out of the speakers, even when the vocals are being cut-up.

Gemini Club – Ghost (Hey Champ! reMix)

Gemini Club’s take on Hey Champ!’s oft-reMixed ‘Cold Dust Girl’ is an 8 minute electronic epic that never once gets boring. A head on collision between Nu-Disco and Indie-Electro, the track takes a turn for the heart attack inducing at the 4:40 mark.
