Awkoder’s ‘Nightrain’ reMixes

We featured Awkoder’s moody ‘Nightrain’ earlier in the month, a evocative, atmospheric Italo tinged SynthWave tune.

Now there’s three reMixes of the track for you to relive the stormy highs of two weeks ago. Frenchman Tommy ramps up the excitement factor with driving drums and laser blast synths. Tommy’s attention grabbing reimagining of the track is full of nervous energy and makes the perfect partner for the brooding original. Protector101’s mix brings things back to the dark clouds vibe of the original but adds a touch of his own deep synth work with some particularly bright lead lines and twisting, amazing, solos playing against the dark moods of the track. Michael Brun’s Lueur Verte project takes the tune straight to that strange place where retro synth music and hair metal meet at the movies for a ‘Fuck Yeah’ moment of fist pumping.

Awkoder’s ‘Nightrain’

Prepare for some stormy night moods of epic proportions from French producer Awkoder.

His latest tune, ‘Nightrain’ is pure midnight. A peice of moody SynthWave that sounds exactly like it says on the tin. this is the sound of electronic night-time rain. A dark soulful track with a deep Italo bassline and enigmatic chords that conjure up that midnight feeling. ‘Nightrain’ is just the latest of a string on amazing tunes from this Frenchman who’s jams have such a soul and passion to them. The moment in ‘Nightrain’ when the distant vocals and lead come in is a beat of pure power.

Awkoder reMixes Edgework

Released yesterday was the new single from French electronic act Edgework. the reMix package contains this gem from the awesome SynthWaver Awkoder.

So light and fluffy is Awkoder’s reMix, that’s it’s practically ElectroPop. There’s actually quite a strong strain of New Order DNA running through this track. The bassline, the bright shiny synths, the arrangement, all capture something of New Order in the early ‘80’s, bits of ‘Blue Monday’ and ‘Shellshock’ spring to mind. This, of course, is all injected with Awkoder’s Nu-Italo synthesizer skills and results in a nice slice of retro synth nostalgia.
