We’ve been very impressed with many of Diamond Cut’s recent reMixes so when a new one hits the electronic rumors inbox it always makes us sit up and pay attention.
Here he has turned his skills to Lo-Fi bedroom popsters The Candle Thieves and their track ‘We’re All Gonna’ Die (Have Fun)’ turning the quirky Indie-Pop track into a smooth ElectroPop journey that carries you away on sweeping synths whist retaining the intimate feel of the original. Great stuff!

A bunch of Short Circuit reMixes!
The good folks at LA based Dreamwave/SynthPop label Binary stopped by the electronic rumors inbox to drop off a bunch of reMixes, some old, some new showcasing the production talents of Andrew Verner A.K.A. Short Circuit just ahead of his début album release.
His reMixes of Keenhouse’s ‘Mecho Maniac’ and The Presets’ ‘Kicking And Screaming’ have been knocking around for a while now but perfectly show off Andrews unique take on the Dreamwave sound, kinda’ like a rawer, more analog version take on the genre.
He’s also dropped two new reMixes of 80’s classics Def Leppard’s ‘Foolin’’ and Michael Jackson’s ‘Beat it’, which display a more urgent, almost more aggressive, evolution to his style.

Cavaliers Of Fun reMix
We posted about Cavaliers Of Fun a while back, including the track ‘Secret Galaxies’. We were pretty impressed with the mashing up of Space-Synth, Dreamwave and Chiptune and some good solid songs.
‘Secret Galaxies’ has been given a banging work over by Canada’s ¡borracho! which kinda’ holds on to the ElectroPop feel but introduces some hardcore dancefloor elements.

electronic rumors fave, Penguin Prison, has reMixed Indie/alternative singer Jack Peñate’s track of last year ‘So Near’ and effortlessly made it his own.
Creating a funky, soulful, ElectroPop gem, this could be a PP track. It so different from the original whilst keeping the song structure and making it sound like it was always written to be an ElectroPop track. Genius!

Chinese Christmas Cards
Chinese Christmas Cards are a duo of breakthrough artists from Barcelona who won Levi’s Unfamous Music Awards 2009.
They produce some infections and quirky Indie-Electro-Folk-Pop that’s almost like a Spanish The Postal Service, without all the moping around. ‘Welcome To Life’ is their new single and it’s four minutes of uplifting, interesting songwriting based around cheap synths and acoustic guitar. It’s well worth a listen if you’re in a whimsical mood!

Château Marmont’s new EP
‘Nibiru’ is the title track of the forthcoming second EP by French dreamy ElectroPoppers Château Marmont.
The track sounds like a mash-up between current Dreamwave sounds and 80’s B-Boy Electro, spacey retro synths and arpeggios share the space with 808 claps and robo vocodering creating a fantastic hybrid!

Nearly 14 years later… Alan Wilder on stage with Depeche Mode!!!
Last night Depeche Mode performed a one off show at London’s Royal Albert Hall in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust and come encore they were joined on stage by the one and only Alan Wider.
This the first time he has joined his ex-bandmates since leaving the band in June 1995, and forming Recoil. These couple of poor quality videos of the performance of ‘Somebody’ can be your solace for not being there!
All they need now is to convince him to produce the next album and we’re good to go!
