Magnifik ‘Behaving Badly’

Australian producer Ashley Feraude A.K.A. Magnifik has just released his ‘Behaving Badly’ single and it’s backed up by some stellar reMixes.

The first of which, coincidentally, comes from awesome fellow Aussies, the Indie-Disco outfit Get Stellar, who we haven’t heard from in a while, who turn in a classy piece of synth-Funk fuelled Electro with a slightly 90’s edge to it. A proper dancefloor starter. Nightriders bring a deep Disco groove to the table with their mix, designed for chilled summer nights. Defiantly a reMix bundle worth investing in.

TEED’s ‘Trouble’ video

Here’s the brand new video for Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs’ current single ‘Trouble’.

TEED appears to be at some kind of slightly retro, slightly Lynchian party. I can’t tell you who directed it, but I can tell you that the headgear was made by Yunus & Eliza.

‘Trouble’ is out now.

Gemini Club’s ‘Future Tidings’ EP

Chicago’s kings of Indie-Electro kings Gemini Club recently released their ‘Future Tidings’ EP which you can now pick up for free on SoundCloud (or, y’know, buy it if you like supporting music).

The EP is a frantic, synth driven juggernaut. The energy levels are high in these five tracks that prove once and for all that synths can rock your ass off. Gemini Club keep it funky at all times but manage to make in-your-face, jump up Indie, funky. Mashing up synths with guitar and bass, Gemini Club boarder on ElectroPunk at times with this EP yet always produce track that would go down a storm on the dancefloor.

Robyn’s ‘Call Your Girlfriend’ video

The video for Robyn’s latest single ‘Call Your Girlfriend’ is here.

Simple, yet effective, just Robyn dancing like a nutter, as is her wont, in a hanger, one take.

Looks ace though.

Cinnamon Chasers’ new reMix EP

Hot on the heels of one of the best albums Nu-Disco/retro synth of the year, ‘Science’, Russ Davies A.K.A. Cinnamon Chasers is back with an EP collection of reMixes out next week.

‘Science reMixes Part 1’ takes four of the albums tracks, ‘Tattoo’, ‘Smooth Station’, ‘One Million Balloons’ and ‘Magic Lover’ p[resented in both their original forms alongside fresh new reMixes. anyone who’s heard ‘Science’ will know what an astounding body of work it is. Smooth Nu-Disco with and epic synthesizer soundtrack quality and a touch of UK house layered with impassioned vocals and vocoder work. The EP’s reMixes add a new dimension to the tracks, from the Old School House vibe of the ‘Retro 909 rEMix’ of ‘Tattoo’ to the space synth of ‘One Million Balloons (Floating Pods Version)’ the EP definably sees Cinnamon Chasers on top for and experimenting a little with his sound.

The ‘Science remixes Part 1’ EP is out 77th June on Modus Records.

autoKratz cover New Order

Following on from their team up with New Order’s Peter Hook for their last single ‘Becoming The Wraith’, autoKratz had paid tribute to their collaborator by covering on of my favourite New Order tracks, ‘Temptation’.

It’s a nice update to the original. A pretty straight cover with a kicking beat added and a touch of modern production to bring the song into the 21st century. It’s hard to imagine anyone other than Bernard Sumner singing ‘Temptation’ but autoKratz’ David Cox’s vocals lend themselves really well to the track. I’m loving all the New Order connections autoKratz are pulling out in the run up to their new album, ’Self help For Beginners’, being release. If the album has this kind of vibe then it could be something special indeed.

Here’s Bronski Beat’s 1986 top ten hit ‘Hit That Perfect Beat’. The track contains one of the catchiest lead lines you will ever hear! The clips in the video come from the film Letter To Brezhnev, which features the song on it’s soundtrack.
