Goin’ Old School: Donna Summer – I Feel Love

In 1940 Giorgio Moroder was born. In 1977 he produced Donna Summer’s ‘I Feel Love’. In 2011 you are a fan of electronic music. There’s a connection.

Holy Ghost! and Michael McDonald!

Holy Ghost! forthcoming new single, ‘Some Children’ has got itself a cool minute long commercial courtesy of Ghoster Adam Fuchs, and Adult Swim.

Hopefully it will get expanded into a full video soon and the song well deserves it, a funky urban electronic groove featuring the voice of yacht legend Michael McDonald. The clip seems to be built around the sheep omnipotent power of McDonalds voice.

‘Some Children’ is out soon and taken from Holy Ghost!’s self titled début album, out now.

Ladytron’s ‘White Elephant’, from their forthcoming new album ‘Gravity The Seducer’, finally gets itself a music video.

It’s a fittingly unsettling affair. Enjoy.

Goin’ Old School: Harold Faltermeyer – Axel F

1984 Harold Faltermeyer, the only ‘Axel F’. ‘Axel F’ is an amazing song but every single cover of this track has been shit. If you mention that fucking frog I will hunt you down and kill you.

The Leadings new video

The Leadings are a Spanish House/ElectroPop act.

Here’s the suitably Spanish video for their track ‘Feel’ from their forthcoming new album. Sometimes people obviously having more fun than me makes me want to reach for a machine gun, the song is really nice though, you should listen.

The Leadings’ new album is out soon on Tsunami.

Goin’ Old School: Giorgio Moroder – From Here To Eternity

Giorgio Moroder’s ‘From Here To Eternity’ was 1977!!! Mr. Moroder had a hand in every single electronic record ever made, that’s a science fact!

Björk’s ‘Crystalline’ video

Here is the video for Björk’s new single ‘Crystalline’.

It’s nice, in that it reminds me of 90’s Björk videos. Well done Michel Gondry!

Björk’s new all encapsulating multi-media project (or as we call it, ‘an album’), ‘Biophilia’, is released 27th September.

Goin’ Old School: Paul Hardcastle – Nineteen

Paul Hardcastle‘s ‘Nineteen’ is a 1985 classic, both of ElectroPop and B-Boy Electro and an electronic music landmark. Just don’t talk about the atrocious 2010 version he did.
