Simian Mobile Disco @ Smirnoff Experience Berlin

Electro giants Simian Mobile Disco are preparing a completely new live show, their biggest ever, for their show at Smirnoff Experience Berlin. Check this video of their preparations:

Some crazy stuff there. Last time I saw SMD live they absolutely slayed the entire room, wish I was in Berlin.

The Smirnoff Experience takes place 23rd April, unsurprisingly in Berlin. Along with SMD the line up includes WhoMadeWho and Boy 8-Bit.

In the studio with Chromeo

LCD Soundsystem’s new video

We’ve actually been pretty lax about posting all this LCD Soundsystem news that’s been going on, we’re pretty exited about the new album, which you can stream on the band’s official website, it’s defiantly sounds like it’s gonna’ be the Post-Punk/Disco-Punk chaotic brilliance it’s expected to be.

Marina: not a (L.A.) robot!

Not actually a new video, but surprisingly well timed for the re-release (or first proper release) of ‘I Am not A Robot’, the video we have here will make up part of the visuals for Marina And The Diamonds forthcoming UK tour. Filmed on Hollywood Boulevard, it actually makes quite a nice promo clip.

‘I Am Not A Robot’ is out 26th April.

New Young Pony Club have débuted the video for their next single ‘We Want To’, the second single from their latest album, ‘The Optimist’. It appears to be a funny take on Russian infomercials and adverts.

Detachments – H.A.L.

Today sees the release of Detachments limited edition 12” of live favourite ‘H.A.L.’ on THISISNOTANEXIT. This is an updated version of the track, produced by Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford and it’s a post-punk-robo-disco juggernaut that wouldn’t have sounded out of place in the dark Industrial clubs of the early and mid-80’s.

iamamiwhoami – O

I’m actually pretty amused that iamamiwhoami didn’t turn out to be anyone mega famous, even I thought it was Christina at one point. Turns out it’s most likely Swedish singer/songwriter Jonna Lee, but regardless of who it is, the first single is already out, released without fanfare, and in the end it’s just really good.

Icy synths, haunting vocals and videos just as weird as you would expect:

Ellie Goulding’s new video

The video for Ellie Goulding’s next single, album opener ‘Guns And Horses’, and recently dropped. It’s an amazing song, not so sure about the video though, it seems the director took the lyrics a little tool literally. A bit of imagination or vision wouldn’t hurt.

Still, fantastic song and if the single is our soon I can’t wait to hear some of the reMixes!
