Homeboi & Oh Yeah’s new EP

Here we have some funky fresh French-House sounds for your midweek.

Coming courtesy of Homeboi & Oh Yeah who have just released a join EP, ‘SainTropez’/’CôteD’Azur’, for free on their new label Indo Silver Records. The EP is seven tracks of summertime grooves and filtered Disco madness. Oh Yeah’s ‘SainTropez’ is pure Disco gold with a killer mix of funk bass and sweeping 80’s synth sounds while ‘CôteD’Azur’, the team up between Homeboi & Oh Yeah, is is a chopped up Nu-Disco floorfiller with a hint of ChipTune about it. Amongst the many reMixes on the EP we have German newcomers Final DJs dropping a Dreamwave style retro synth affair, heavy on sidechaining and brassy leads.

Golabek’s ‘Babe (Don’t Feed the Wildlife)’

Today sees the release of 17 year old Californian producer Golabek’s first single for the awesome Mullet Records.

‘Babe (Don’t Feed the Wildlife)’ is a slick, soulful slab of Electro-Funk. Unashamedly 80’s Disco the track is an impressive début for such a young artist. Showing musical maturity beyond his years, Golabek whips up a slowly building DiscoPop storm with layers upon layers of percussion, strings and wild licks.

Crimea X’s ‘Varvara’

Sometimes the electronic rumors inbox turns up exactly what I am in the mood for at exactly the right time!

And that’s exactly what happened when this new track from Italian duo Crimea X came through. A soulful organic Disco tune with a Jean Michel-Jarre gone Funk feel. Otherwordly and cosmic yet so human, the track has a deep groove that underpins quite a cinematic feel. The track featured on their ‘Prospective’ album of least year and gets the reMix treatment on ‘Re:Prospective’, a collection of reworkings of the album that Crimea X are about to release. Bjørn Torske contributes his take on the track which takes it even further into the realms of live Synth Funk jam and deep space Dub.

It’s all go at  MiGHty mOUse HQ! For a start May sees the release of their new EP, titled ‘The First EP’.

Justin Faust ‘Sloppy Chic’ reMixes

Justin Faust had just dropped a selection of reMixes from his ‘Sloppy Chic’ EP of last year.

The standout for me is Super Mal’s heavy Nu-Disco workout of ‘Your Life’. What more can you want from a track like this? Killer bassline, rapid fire synths that shine like a beacon in the darkness all over the place. This reMix has got a groove that is just going to slay dancefloors worldwide. Italians Fare Soldi also turn in a killer rhythmic Italo/Disco mix of the title track. It’s a low-down dirty and grimy Disco track that gets inside your head!
