Calling the troops!

Good morning Electro fans!
As a aside this morning I’m asking my readers for a quick favour.
A good friend of mine is working on the marketing module of her fashion degree at university.

As part of this she needs to get some market research done, so if our female readers could take two minutes to fill in this little survey for her we would be pretty grateful and post some shit hot music this afternoon!

Thanks guys!

¡borracho!; new EP

Canadian Electro-House producers ¡borracho! is about to drop their début EP, ‘Anything To Declare…?’ on new digital label Rural Route Records Inc. Consisting mostly of some of the stellar reMixes they’ve given us in the last few months, the EP also includes an original track titled ‘Soviet Holiday’. If’s a full on, dancefloor destroying, banger and you can check the tune and accompanying video here:

Amongst the reMixes included on the EP is the brilliant Cavaliers Of Fun reMix, we’ve previously featured, for ‘Secret Galaxies’ and their take on Lady Gaga’s ‘Love Games’. Both reMixes throw the tracks straight on the dancefloor and rock out with soaring lead lines and hard distorted synths.

Spitzer

Spitzer

French label InFiné have got in touch to show off their next release, the first proper EP from Spitzer, two brothers from Lyon who make sweet, intricate electronic music.

Track three of the ‘Roller Coaster’ EP is ‘Too Hard To Breath’ and features vocals from KiD A. It’s actually a really beautiful, chilled piece of electronica with nods to IDM, Trip-Hop and Dubstep with a vocal performance that is reminiscent of Björk with a hint of Martina Topely-Bird (and something else I can’t quite put my finger on!).

Great headphone listening!

Panic Bomber

PanicBomber

Miami’s Panic Bomber has just released a new EP on Canada’s YYZ Records.

The ‘Discipline EP’’s title track is a genre crushing Nu-Disco/SynthPop/Acid Techno stormer. A hard and dark bassline propels the track forward and counterpoints the catchy vocals, and that’s before it goes crazy with Acid builds!

Parralox début new video

Australian SynthPop heroes Parralox have débuted the video for their forthcoming single ‘Isn’t It Strange’. Like a female fronted, early ’90’s Depeche Mode, Parralox produce classic SynthPop, in the truest sense of the word. The new single is tinged with melancholy but a generally uplifting electronic Pop tune and this classy video works really well with the track.

I’ll tell you what, I’ve missed 90’s orchestral stabs!

‘Isn’t It Strange’ is released April 2010 on Conzoom Records.

NightWaves; new single and Beaumont reMix

NightWaves03

Coming straight out of LA based SynthPop/Dreamwave collective Binary Records, NightWaves have been throwing out some awesome tunes recently. I’m still rockin’ to their cover of ‘In The Air Tonight’!

Next week they duo drop their new single ‘Sweet Carrie’ and continuing the evolution of the NightWaves sound they’ve dropped some subtle guitars into the mix which blend pretty well with their dreamy synths. The tracks is pure summertime cool which, frankly, makes you wish you were somewhere else (unless, of course, you are already somewhere chillin’ in the sun, in which case, here’s your soundtrack!) You can check the video here.

Along with a killer package, our good friend Beaumont has contributed his take in the tune to the mix. The Aussie producer turns in sweet laidback Electro-House mix that makes brilliant use of cut-up vocals and finds a voice all of it’s own.

As a bonus the guys are releasing the stems of the track for all and sundry to reMix! Download them here.

‘Sweet Carrie’ drops next Tuesday on dubFrequency.

Monarchy’s ‘The Phoenix Alive’ video!

The anticipation for a long player from Monarchy just grows and grows each time I listen to them and now not only do the make some of the best SynthPop around but they also have fantastic videos!

This new video is 4:31 of pure space-porn with a nice Sci-Fi narrative. In combination with the music I could watch this again and again…and I have!

‘The Phoenix Alive’’s video was directed by Nils Porrmann @ Dandelion & Burdock, the single drops 16th April.

Jamaica

Jamaica

So what happens when Poney Poney change their name and enlist Justice’s Xavier de Rosnay and Daft Punk’s sound Engineer Peter Franco to produce their album?

Jamaica, that’s what! They have just dropped this, their début track, ‘I Think I Like U 2’, which is a feel good, upbeat Indie-Electro fun jam complete with Daft-style solo.

Jamaica also have a track on the forthcoming 9th edition of the Kitsuné Maison series and a full length album due out in August.

DāM-FunK covers The Human League

Dr. Martins, British footwear provider to the Indie inclined for, well, forever, are celebrating 50 years in the boot business by commissioning a whole heap of artists to cover 10 classic tracks.

This is the track you’ll be particularly interested in. La Electro-Funk agitator DāM-FunK taking The Human League’s ‘The Things That Dreams Are Made Of’ to Moog heaven.

Like Barry White channelling Phil Oakey this is a really raw Funk, bass heavy version.
