CHEW LiPS; new non-album track!

ChewLips02

It’s that time again, for one of the greatest UK Electro acts around, CHEW LiPS, to kindly give away another free track to coincide with the last of their regular club nights.

This time there’s a twist though, while previous giveaways have been taster of what to expect on their painfully anticipated for coming album, this tune ‘Rising Tide’ won’t be featured on the release and the band have put it up online for a limited time only.

The music here has got an almost Yazoo flavour which works perfectly with Tig’s vocals.

As a bonus, here’s FC Kahuna’s reMix of last months free track ‘Slick’:

The album will be out at the start of next year preceded by the single ‘Seven’ in January.

Love On Laserdisc

LoveOnLaserdisc

Love On Laserdisc is a side project of Euro reMixer/artist extraordinaire Kris Menace, who has just dropped his first EP under that name.

The ‘LOLD1 EP’ EP features two tracks, one of which we can preview for you right here. ‘Mainframe’ is a wicked slice of retro Electro, it’s all sweet breakin’ basslines, Simmonds drums and cowbells!

One part Valerie-esq Dreamwave, one part Planet Rock, if this doesn’t get you hauling out the Lino and windmilling nothing will!

New Hot Chip track!

HotChip02

Ooo, it’s nearly ‘new Hot Chip album’ time!

8th February 2010 is the current release date for ‘One Life Stand’, Hot Chip’s fourth full studio album but the guys have decided to tease you all with this, the title track of the album.

‘One Life Stand’ is a brilliant title and the lyrics do it justice. The song is a mellow Dance-Rock sounding track which manages to come across full of genuine pathos while keeping the dancefloor happy.

You don’t have to wait until February! Hot Chips precious four records are available now!

Breakdown reMixes Flamboyant Bella

FlamboyantBella

September saw UK Indie-Popsters and MySpace darlings Flamboyant Bella release their single ‘Get A Reaction’ to much hype.

LA duo Breakdown stopped by the electronic rumors inbox to showcase the reMix they supplied for the single, and what a fantastic slice of Electro-Dance-Pop it is too!

Huge, pumping bass dominates the track which sounds great with Flo Kirton’s vocals and a slight hint of Nu-Rave about it gives it that edge.

New Le Corps Mince De Françoise single on Kitsuné

LeCorpsMinceDeFrançoise03

Le Corps Mince De Françoise are about to release their first single for Kitsuné Music. ‘Something Golden’ originally appeared on the 8th volume of the Kitsuné Maison series and now the crazy Electro girls are set to deliver a package with some killer reMixes.

Zebra & Snake and Renaissance Man both take what is quite a disjointed song (true to LCMDF’s style!) and work it into their individual dance grooves, although both reMixes have an individuality and edge that is fitting for a LCMDF track!

Fear Of Tigers album drops!

FearOfTigers02

The time is upon us, Ben Berry A.K.A. Fear Of Tigers has dropped his début album and as we previously mentioned, it’s free!

Words fail to describe how good this album is, it’s really a upbeat and poppy mixture of Electro-House, Nu-Disco, Dreamwave and SynthPop.

I’ll let the music speak for itself:

Fear Of Tigers – Cossus Snufsigalonica (zShare) (MediaFire)

Fear Of Tigers – Friday Night At Geek Club (zShare) (MediaFire)

I was also happily surprised to find a version of ‘Anomaly (Calling Your Name)’, a trance classic originally by Libra Presents Taylor (Feat. Jan Johnston) (A.K.A. BT), which took me back, FoT has beautifully updated it:

Fear Of Tigers – Calling Your Name (zShare) (MediaFire)

I am utterly gobsmacked that FoT have given us, for free, and album of insanely better quality than most paid-for releases around, let’s hope some record label drives a truck full of money up to his house!

La Roux Vs. The Subs

LaRoux06

The Subs have had a good couple of years, with the release of their first album ‘Subculture’ on Lektroluv and a host of 12”’s and remixes.

They round off this year with a reMix of one of my favourite racks from La Roux’s self-titled début, ‘Colourless Colour’. They completely change the vibe of the track, making it more frantic which adds an urgency to Elly’s vocals

La Roux – Colourless Colour (The Subs’ Popup Mix) (zShare) (MediaFire)

it will be interesting to see if ‘colourless Colour’ will be the next single, after the re-release of ‘Quicksand’.

Monsieur Adi

MonsieurAdi

Despite the name Monsieur Adi is in fact Italian, not French. Which is surprising as there are more than a few nods to Daft Punk and Justice going on in his music.

Adi releases his début EP, ‘We Are The Romans’ (that’ll be the Italian reference then!) soon and as a teaser we can give you a listen to the title track. as we said, there is quite a strong Ed Banger influence here with distorted rhythms and samples and big majestic chords but with something of his own uniqueness about it.

Monsieur Adi – We Are The Romans (Rough Mix) (zShare) (MediaFire)

With a few reMixes already under his belt Monsieur Adi is a name you will probably hear more of in the coming months.

Friends Electric reMix Ellie Goulding

ElleGoulding03

This reMix of Ellie Goulding’s ‘Under The Sheets’ is actually a couple of months old but i felt like sharing. Cardiff newcomers Friends Electric are already causing waves and if this mix is anything to go by they have a bright future ahead of them. This is a solid reMix, a bass heavy floor filler!

Have they added backing vocals? Nice!

Fan Death chilled out by Ghost Hunter

FanDeath04

I love ‘Reunited’, it’s one of my most played tracks this month, i seriously can’t wait for Fan Death’s ‘A Coin In The Well’ EP that the track is taken from.

To tide us over, have a listen to this reMix of ‘reunited’ by Sheffield based Electronica artist  Ghost Hunter. Dragging Fan Death into strange new places, Ghost Hunter morphs Fan Death’s moody disco into moody electronic soundscapes. Nice use of the lead line!
