Pat Lok inspects something

It was played everywhere, all summer, and it obviously got deep inside Canadian groovster Pat Lok’s brain. So while the rest of us were slowly going mad having Todd Terje’s Inspector Norse stuck in out heads, Pat decided to exorcize his demon and make the track his own.

So, here’s is Pat Lok’s homage to the tune, Inspect A Horse. This isn’t a piss-take, or a cheesy cover, though (although you get the feeling it may have started out that way), this is a sweet House tune all on it’s own. Pat takes the atmosphere if the original and makes it his own, loading on the electric piano hooks and Disco strings. Although ‘Terje Unapproved’, the tune is getting support from the likes of RAC, Jeremy Glenn, Cosmo Baker, Sammy Bananas and Bufi.

Todd Terje reMixes Hot Chip

Norwegian Disco-House genius Todd Terje’s reMix of Hot Chip’s new single How Do You Do is just stunning. Mr. Terje’s has released some of the best track of the last six months, but he’s really outdone himself here. It’s nine minutes long, and not a second of it is anything less than brilliant.

A reMix this length gives Terje room to breath and slowly whip any dancefloor up into a frenzy. Using the original subtly, this reMix eases you into the groove with some shuffling 909 drums and hypnotic and evolving Sci-Fi analog synths. Gently rising sparkles and synth stabs (which from not on I will be calling the stabs of anticipation) let you know something is coming, but Todd takes his time to get there, enforcing a deep electronic Funk before laying down a massive breakdown. When that kicks back in, there’s no going back, you are locked in.

Todd Terje’s ‘Inspector Norse’, from his forthcoming new EP ‘It’s The Arps’, is already being hailed by some as the track of 2012.

The EP drops mid-January and the lead track is a Moroderfied synthetic Disco monster. Bouncy digital Italo bass, some amazing electro tom action and groovy little melodies all combine to create an awesome feel good track that you can help but move to. The EP sounds like it’s gonna’ be a must buy.
