Creep reMixed by Soul Clap

Young Turks latest signing, Lauren Flax’s Creep are giving away the Soul Clap reMix of their début single ‘Days’.

This reMix doesn’t feature on the single, which features Romy from The XX on vocals, and brings a shilling beat and a bit of funk to the dark minimal original. I’m not going to call the original either Trip-Hop (‘cos it’s not) or Witch-House (‘cos that’s just a ridiculous term), it’s got more in common with Minimal Synth than anything else. Anyway, check the reMix for some dark 90’s electronic Funk.

The XX Vs. Tiga

The XX’s ‘Shelter’ has been pretty reMixed to death, but I suppose there is always room for one more when it comes from the likes of Tiga.

The man gets deep and dark on this track. It’s almost a Dubstep track. 50% Dubby, 50% atmospheric soundtrack, 100% enveloping.

The XX’s self titled album and the ‘Shelter’ single are both out now.

Some San Francisco based Dubstep for you now, courtesy of The Confluence Group, in the form of MartyParty.

He describes himself as IDM based Hip Hop, which actually might be more apt considering some of the things going on in his sonic landscape, but it’s still Dubstep, and some pretty fine Dubstep it is too! Intricate sounds filter in and out and give way to aggressive leads throughout his original track ‘Shorty’, but his reMix of The XX’s ‘Infinity’ is the real standout here with all the elements you want from a storming Dubstep tune.

MartyParty’s début is out in June, until them throw some MySpace love his way:

A couple of The XX reMixes

TheXX02

We’ve had a couple of reMixes of The XX (who, apparently, haven’t split up) drop into the electronic rumors Inbox this week, so listen up!

Dave Wrangler take on the track ‘Stars’ and ends up with an almost old school EBM powerhouse, all heavy kick drum and arpeggios which seems to counterpoint the sparkling melody line.

Popular Damage assimilate ‘Crystalised’ and produce something equally as heavy. This time, though, it’s a big Electro banger that we find with some choppy distorted lead lines worthy of Justice and floor shaking drums.

Both tracks are taken from The XX’s album, ‘XX’.

The XX Vs. Death To The Throne

TheXX

This isn’t the first Death To The Throne we’ve featured on electronic rumors and it sure won’t be the last!

This time he’s tackling (possible split) London Indie darlings The XX’s anthem ‘shelter’ and delivers his usual quality churning the tune into a huge, soulful, Electro-House banger!

‘Shelter’ is taken from The XX’s self-titled début album…oh, and Death To The Throne has just bought some Axe body spray!
