Goldroom reMixed by Follow Me

goldroom

The mysterious Follow Me is back once again, so soon after the sweet ‘A Mission Nocturnal’ they follow up with this late night reMix of Goldroom’s ‘Angeles’.

Apparently the conditions for this smooth Disco reMix was that it was “Made with all analog gear on our spaceship 37,000 years in the Ancient Future Past, hovering over the Post-Apocalyptic Californian Islands.”. Frankly, how they made something so smooth under such harsh conditions is amazing. The guys drops a slick, laid back, bass groove and then just let Josh’s hazy vocals wash over the beat while they layer on blankets of dreamlike synths, undulating in and out of the track. Follow Me are definitely shaping up to be a name to keep a serious eye on.

New tune from Follow Me

Follow Me

Some brand new night time SynthWave right here from Follow Me who’s just dropped his latest work, ‘A Mission Nocturnal’.

It’s a stomping, moody Italo based tune, which some awesome little flourishes, especially in the second half with the delay heavy guitar sample. There’s a bright, almost oriental feel to the twisting and intertwining arpeggios that, arguably, are the core of this track. With the Italo bassline below them and the big retro chords above, they help the track along to becoming a class late night jam.

You may remember the mysterious Follow Me from our round up of the best entries in Fear Of Tigers ‘Pippi Longstrump’ reMix competition.

Continuing to impress us they have just dropped a new track, ‘Fight Or Flight’, and it just shows why they are definitely one to watch in 2012. ‘Fight Or Flight’ is a slick as anything slick of SynthWave with a Sci-Fi sheen. The layers of intricate melodies weaving in and out of each other make the track seem full and rich and like there’s always some kind of synthesizer wizardry going on. Combine that with a solid ‘80’s bassline and you have the recipe for perfect retro synth awesomeness.

Tiger

As Fear Of Tigers’ ‘The Adventures Of Pippi Longstrump’ reMix competition draws to a close here is our sixth and final round up of some of the better entries we have missed so far.

Four entries today. First up Portugal’s Cut Slack sets the bar pretty high with a storming Nu-Disco mix that swaps the euphoric riff for some smooth licks. Follow Me’s galactic rock jam is a power drum workout with a growling bassline that only occasionally gives way to some sweet Disco. Collins does a pretty good job of updating the original with an ear for ‘80’s synthesizer melody with epic and uplifting production while Cuica submit a laid back, Flute infused, beach Disco take on the track.
