Class Actress’ new video + EP

Brooklyn Italo influenced SynthPoppers Class Actress are gearing up release of their UK début EP, ‘Journal Of Ardency’ in July.

The brainchild of songwriter Elizabeth Harper, Class Actress create some really beautiful, really electronic, SynthPop. Taking the minimal sound of Coldwave but infusing it with a dancefloor, Italo-esq groove they produce something that is dancey yet deep.

Check the video for ‘Journal of Ardency’ directed by Patrick Cleandenim.

Crystal Castles ‘Celestica’ reMix

CrystalCastles03

‘Celestica’ was a pleasant surprise of a single. Although not Crystal Castles first endeavour in melody it was a slick, sweet slice of melodic ElectroPop, unexpected, but welcome.

Professor Purple drops 8-bit sounds and Electro-House sawtooth synths over it, which, ironically, kinda’ re-Crystal Castles-izes the track but also brings the track straight to Dreamwave dancefloors!

‘Celestica’ is out now digitally.

Alec Empire’s reMix of IAMX’s ‘I Am Terrified’ video

Here is the viral video for Alec Empire’s reMix of the IAMX song ‘I Am Terrified’.

It was shot and edited by Chris Corner himself and just shows you don’t need a massive budget to produce something with stunning visuals!

The reMix is released on ‘Dogmatic Infidel Comedown OK’, which fans in the UK can get packaged as a bonus disc with the UK release of IAMX’s last album, ‘Kingdom Of Welcome Addiction’,  17th May on 61Seconds.

Both albums are currently available separately in Europe.

Beaumont reMixes Róisín Murphy

RoisinMurphy02

Beaumont has sent on over his reMix of SynthPop goddess Róisín Murphy’s last single ‘Momma’s Place’ and he’s knocking it out the park again.

Working the vocals perfectly, Beaumont knows exactly when to build it and when to drop it, his Nu-Disco track never overshadowing the ElectroPop original, just lifting it to greater heights.

Jonny White Featuring My Favorite Robot

JonnyWhite

Toronto based electronica producer Jonny White has teamed up with My Favorite Robot to produce what could be described as a Deep House/Cold Wave crossover piece.

There are obvious heavy Joy Division influences in this Minimal Synth track, in the dark chords and vocals particularly, but it all works toward a beautiful and hypnotic deep Electro song.

Phonogenic up the danceability and bring the kick drum without loosing and of that deep vibe producing quite a cold Deep House reMix.

Arsenal + Gui Borrato

Arsenal

Belgian electronic Pop duo Arsenal’s forthcoming new single ‘Estupendo’ is being touted as a ‘rival to MGMT’s ‘Electric Feel’’. I’m not sure about, that but it is a catchy summer anthem with a retro feel.

Brazilian producer Gui Boratto has created this deep, quite minimal, reMix for the single. It retains the SynthPop vibe but takes the track down dark, bleepy roads.

‘Estupendo’ and the album ‘Lotuk’ are out soon on Playout Music.

autoKratz’ ‘Kick’ EP

autokratz03

London ElectroPop/Electro-House noise mongers autoKratz are gearing up to release their second album in 2010, in the meantime they are presenting a brand new EP, titled ‘Kick’, and giving it away for free form their official website.

Containing two new tracks and three reMixes, one of the new tracks, ‘Skin Machine’ we’ve heard before, but the title tack is a brand new beast. And a beast it is too! Hard beats, heard synths, noisy guitars…I love the way autoKratz can take the most chaotic of elements and make them into a cohesive song.

HURTS ‘Better Than Love’ Video

After a couple of teasers, SynthPop rising stars HURTS have débuted the video for their forthcoming first (proper) single, the anthemic ‘Better Than Love’.

It’s a pretty slick affair, it’s kinda’ got a Ultravox vibe going on and a pleasant return to the ‘80’s school of arty mini-movie music video making.

‘Better Than Love’ drops soon, very soon!

The Ghost’s ‘City Lights’

TheGhost

Residents of the Faroe Islands and recent Sunday Best signings The Ghost have been tipped as ‘one to watch’ by the NME for their unique mix of vintage ElectroPop and Indie.

Gearing up for the June release of their début album, ‘War Kids’, the duo are dropping their first UK single in May. ‘City Lights’ which is as anthemic as it is introspective. Amongst others the reMix duties are handled by none other than Mr. David E Sugar who presents a typically upbeat Electro-House mix with some pretty euphoric (in a good way) breakdowns. I’m also really digging  The Deadstock 33s robo-Disco reMix, I could listen to that synth bass all day!
