Ellie Goulding & Bassnectar; the video

Well, they’ve gone and taken the video for ‘Lights’ by Ellie Goulding and chopped it up to fit Bassnectar’s reMix of the tune.

I’m not sure how much crossover there is between heavy Dubstep and fluffy ElectroPop, but Bassnectar does a bloody good job of trying.

MiGHty mOUse’s ‘Between The Pavement And The Stars’ video

MiGHty mOUse’s ‘Between The Pavement And The Stars’ is one of my favourite tunes of the moment. It’s just do damn catchy.

After a brief absence, while MM did proper band photo shoots and stuff, the mice are back in the new video for the single. The video’s cute, the songs infections, I’m expecting this tune to be huge.

‘Between The Pavement And The Stars’ is released 18th July with a stellar line up of reMix talent including Mario Basanov, Edwin Van Cleef, Blamma! Blamma!, Tronik Youth, and Tareq.

Gesaffelstein’s ‘Viol’ & Ghostriders video

Deep electronic groove merchant Gesaffelstein’s new EP, ‘Conspiracy Vol. 2’ dropped this week.

The lead tracks ‘Viol’ has been used as the soundtrack for a film by Ghostriders, which serves as the tracks clip. Ghostriders are a bunch of hipsters riding fixed-gears at night. Yeah, I know, but it does make for quite a nice video, and the track is ace.

‘Conspiracy Vol. 2’ is out now,

Goin’ Old School: New Order – True Faith

New Order ‘s 1987 ‘True Faith’ is one of my favourite songs of all time to dance to. Philippe Decouflé surreal video is repeatedly voted one of the best videos of all time.

Goin’ Old School: M – Pop Muzik

In 1979 M invented the ‘80’s with ‘Pop Muzik’, they then swiftly went on to invent ‘80’s music videos. Look.

Goin’ Old School: Philip Oakey & Giorgio Moroder – (Together In) Electric Dreams

Really, what can I sat about Philip Oakey & Giorgio Moroder’s 1984 absolute classic ‘(Together In) Electric Dreams’? If you don’t love it you are dead inside? That’ll do.

Appaloosa’s ‘Jumping On Beds’

Paris/London duo and sometime Kitsunérs Appaloosa have dropped a new track, ‘Jumping On Beds’, which was apparently recorded in London while…you guessed it…jumping on beds.

There’s a video too, guess what goes on in that?

It’s a classy slice of burbling ElectroPop complimented with alternating vocals and vocoding. Appaloosa have got such a nice stripped down sound, not fancy production here, just raw electronics and impassioned vocals. The real deal.

Appaloosa – Jumping On Beds

Girls in cowboy hats jumping on beds while singing ElectroPop? I can deal with that.

Goin’ Old School: Beats International (Feat. Lindy Layton) – Dub Be Good To Me

Beats International & Lindy Layton dropped ‘Dub Be Good To Me’ way back in 1990. Lindy seemed to be on TV all the time back then, That was a good thing. Love the Morricone sample with the Dub bass.
