So, publicists are sending us tracks their neighbours have produced now. That’s a thing that is happening. Frankly, we don’t mind, as long as it’s not from our neighbours (who’s music taste is terrible), or from the Neighbours (who produced Kylie, granted, but also Stefan Dennis). If it’s tracks like London based producer Leo Kalyan’s reMix of Ellie Goulding‘s Burn, our mailbox is open.
Kalyan serves up a rich banquet of deep grooves in his take on the track. Shuffling, hypnotic beats and basslines that allow Ellie’s vocals to take on a new, smokey, aspect as they curl in and out of the tracks pulsating electronics. Kalyan seems to have a knack for delivering something that is both atmospheric and extremely dancefloor friendly, something about those enigmatic rhythms and haunting tones that make this one pretty compelling.
