The UK’s finest exponents of melancholy ElectroPop HURTS have just announced the release of their long awaited second studio album. To be titled Exile, the record is due out in March 2013. If you pre–order the album now, you’ll get a sneak preview track, The Road, absolutely free.
The duo trumpeted the news with this video featuring a hint of The Road and some post-Dubstep grinding industrial sounds.

On Christmas Day is La SynthPop outfit Father Tiger’s contribution to the X-Mas cheer. It’s a wonderfully upbeat slice of electronic melancholy, which all the best X-mas tunes are.
There’s a nice video too which, for a free single, looks a hell of a lot better than some videos from major artists.

Here’s the video for Canadian Indie-Electro crew Dragonette’s raucous X-Mas single, Merry Xmas (Says Your Text Message).
It’s a bit cheeky using a lyric video (which no-one really likes) as an official video, a bit cheap too, but it is nicely animated. Just a bit disappointing that Dragonette couldn’t make the effort, and the label didn’t have the faith in them to spend the money, to make a proper videos. It is fun, for what it’s worth, we just hate lyric videos.

Here, finally, is the video for The Presets’ new single, and one of the highlights of their Pacifica album, Promises.
Directed by Special Problems, the video is once again a collage of clips and animation and bright colours, but a bit more coherent that Youth In Trouble.
