Holiday For Strings

Thieves Like Us’ Pony has given us the heads up about his new project Holiday for Strings, with John from Peter Bjorn & John.

The Swedish six piece have just dropped their second record, a collection of reMixes from their album, ‘Favorite Flavor’. Driven by some awesome, Hooky influenced, bass playing the No-Disco/Indie-Electro tracks have a real New York Disco feel to them but while they are the kind of tracks guaranteed to get the party started there is an added layer of intelligence going on, both musically and lyrically.

Both Holiday For Strings’ album and the reMix EP are out now.

Peter Bjorn & John reMix The Golden Filter

The Golden Filter’s ‘Hide Me’ single is out this week and amongst the reMix package is this interpretation by  Peter Bjorn & John, or rather John Eriksson’s project Hortlax Cobra.

Atmospheric, floaty and quite experimental and featuring more of John’s vocals than the Penelope’s, the reMix strips The Golden Filter of their New York Disco but seems to keep their atmosphere and feeling of the original.

‘Hide Me’ is released on 19th April followed by the album on the 26th.
