London based ecclectic electronic producer David E. Sugar is back with a new single, Pushing To Be The First, on Future Future Records released next month. A deep and dreamy slice of intoxicating HousePop.
Check the lo-fi video for the track, VHS effects ahoy!
David E. Sugar’s Pushing To Be The First is released 10th February.
David E. Sugar’s third single from his ‘Memory Store’ album is on it’s way.
‘Fingers On The Button’ is quintessential Sugar, toytown synths and an Indie sensibility mix up to produce a really personal, yet quite dancey tune. David has had his hand in so many different styles of ElectroPop before reaching the place where he is now, and that experience and influence was such a benefit to an amazing album and it’s singles.
David E. Sugar had just dropped the video for his latest single ‘Flea Market’.
David is kinda’ quietly making some of the best ElectroPop in the country and this single is no exception with an added Folktronica flavour. The video, directed by Thomas Knights, continues his tradition of making simple but effective clips.
ChipTune pioneer turned Electro-House guru David E. Sugar’s forthcoming single, on Rob Da Bank’s Sunday Best label, sees a pretty huge shift in direction toward a more Electro-Punky, or Indie-Electro sound.
Featured on the forthcoming ‘Kitsuné X Ponystep’ compilation, the track, ‘Party Killer’ is a raw and raucous party anthem with jagged disco guitars and David’s stripped down vocals over a smooth summer beat.
the reMix backup comes from Disco Of Doom, The Phenomenal Hand Clap Band, Renaissance Man, Sunday Best themselves and Adam Smith who keeps most of the song structure but chops up vocals and guitar and melds them to a more dancefloor friendly Electro track. Defiantly the banger option in the reMix package.
Residents of the Faroe Islands and recent Sunday Best signings The Ghost have been tipped as ‘one to watch’ by the NME for their unique mix of vintage ElectroPop and Indie.
Gearing up for the June release of their début album, ‘War Kids’, the duo are dropping their first UK single in May. ‘City Lights’ which is as anthemic as it is introspective. Amongst others the reMix duties are handled by none other than Mr. David E Sugar who presents a typically upbeat Electro-House mix with some pretty euphoric (in a good way) breakdowns. I’m also really digging The Deadstock 33s robo-Disco reMix, I could listen to that synth bass all day!
