[Audio] Viceroy reMixed by Wax Motif

San Francisco’s master of the Disco, Viceroy, and Chela’s Dream Of Bombay turned out to be one of the surprises of the year so far. An amazing summery vocal Nu-Disco tune that’s going to get a lot of play in the coming months, not least because there’s a host of reMixes on the way, the first coming from LA producer Wax Motif.

Wax Motif’s take on Dream Of Bombay is a huge, uplifting floorfiller. Proper main room stuff, the reMix keeps the vocal intact but swaps the summery, Dreamwavey, Disco for pounding dancefloor sounds. Pumping synth bass and frantic undulating leads whisk themselves around the track, awaiting the massive hook. This one is all about big beats, big synths and big builds, and it all works perfectly with the song. Hands in the air time.

Here’s the official video for San Francisco funkmeister Viceroy and Dreamwave songstress Chela’s frankly amazing new single, Dream Of Bombay. This breezy slice of feel-good Dreamwave has been on repeated round these parts for a while now, and the video is so cool.

Josh Harris directs the clip, capturing the perfect nostalgic vibe, while Chela exudes effortless 80s cool.

So, we’ve all got pretty used to Australian songstress Chela over the summer. Partly due to her appearance on Clubfeet’s Heartbreak, but mostly from her turn as the voice of Goldroom’s summer destroying Fifteen, one of the biggest tunes of they year. Now it’s time to check out some of her own output as she released two singles, Full Moon and Plastic Gun.

Released yesterday, Full Moon feels a few months too late, it would have been a stonking summer anthem. it’s got all the best qualities of smooth beach part Disco, but with a hazy shimmer that feels pretty unique. The track’s pulsating cosmic Disco and funk bassline are perfectly married to Chela’s vocals, that flip from ethereal to rowdy. It’s a track that sticks in your head for ages. Plastic Gun bring s more live sound to Chela’s repertoire. A reverb washed Indie-Disco jam with an energetic garage feel and a hint of Ladyhawke going on. Chela’s definitely got out interest.
