Starsmith Vs. Starsmith

Followers of the UK’s top ElectroPop producer Starsmith on Twitter will remember him mentioning a reMix of his début single ‘Give Me A Break’ he had put together to play at the launch party for the 12”.

Well, he’s now gone and made it available to the public (that’s you lot), so here it is. It’s quite a cool edit, drops and builds in just the right places and an awesome solo line in the finale. I can imagine this went down a treat when he dropped it.

  1. Forgive me for not knowing my genres as well as I should, but is this even electropop? If I had to guess, I’d call it house, or perhaps UK Garage.

    • I’d call it Nu-Disco-esq House.
I refer to Starsmith as one of the UK’s top ElectroPop producers more in his capacity as producer/songwriter with other artists than this, his solo stuff (although there are apparently ‘songs’ on his forthcoming album.
His amazing work as songwriter and producer or remixer with Ellie Goulding/Frankmusik/Kylie/Marina etc… and his past as an ElectroPop producer is how I see him. Where he goes with his new solo stuff is anyone’s guess, but yeah, his double a-side single so far I would call House (a-side) and Nu-Disco (aa-side).
