We’re not big fans for inter-artist comparisons, but SLK is kinda’ like London’s answer to BANKS. Delivering a warm concoction of avant-garde Future R&B, combining experimental electronics with soulful vocals. Her new single, Hush, follows on from a critically acclaimed EP last year titled Form. Hush starts out moody, and the gets moodier and moodier. Haunting beats and eerie, backtracked samples pair with subtle and ominous synths that forms a musical atmosphere for some particularly British sounding vocals. There’s a lot to like in here; if you’re into your Downtempo, or Future R&B, or experimental electronics, even a little Dub, SLK serves up an eclectic and involving tune right here.
